Got to spend some time with Teena and she seems like she is doing better. Speech is much clearer, but she still gets confused about some of the things she is saying. Not always sure what she is talking about. Her personality is definitly still there… and I was sure of that when I told her I was going to have her put on a dress, heels and jewelry and she asked if she could slap me 🙂 She has great movement of hands and arms ( though a little slow), but the legs are giving her some trouble. Hello Kast Family, Talked to Jenn earlier today and she gave me the latest information on Teena. Maybe I should have asked Teena herself last nite when Jenn held the phone up to her ear so I could say hello. Actually, she told me she was fine, and promised me she’d get better real soon. The breathing tube is out and she is even eating soft things like apple sauce and mashed potatoes. She still has a drain in and the swelling in her brain has gone down to normal levels. Lots of good news today. Teena was awake, alert and watching people as they walked around the room.. and the doctors have taken out the breathing tube. They’ve been trying to get her to move her hands, arms, and legs but her response time has been a little slow. I wasn’t able to see Teena last night, but have been told she is doing alright. Fuat and I got to the hospital about 7:00pm, and Becky, Tommy, Mike ( Teena’s brother) and Mikey ( Teena’s nephew) were sitting in the waiting room. MOm, thanks for getting some information on here. We were at the hospital most of the past two days and no computer access.  Fuat is at the hospital with her now, while I have to be at work, and he is staying with her and her daughter/son-in-law so they are not alone either. Hello Kast Family, Just want to give you a brief update on Teena. She was transferred during the night to the University Hospital in Richmond. After she got there they continued testing to look for more aneurysms. They took her to surgery early in the morning and put a drain in to the ventrical in the brain to relieve the pressure and swelling. Later on they then went in and evacuated the big clot in the front. She is in ICU and still on a ventilator. She is responsive and can follow commands and has regained movement in her arms and legs. She and Fuat had been trying to reach Teena all afternoon and went by her house to visit her. When she didn’t come to the door they thought she was sleeping or perhaps out with a friend. Happy Holidays everyone!  I’ve been meaning to post on here for weeks, but it’s been very hectic and finding time for the computer is not easy. I am sure everyone knows how that is!!
