MORE ABOUT OUR TEENA

Hello Kast Family,

Talked to Jenn earlier today and she gave me the latest information on Teena. Maybe I should have asked Teena herself last nite when Jenn held the phone up to her ear so I could say hello. Actually, she told me she was fine, and promised me she’d get better real soon.

The breathing tube is out and she is even eating soft things like apple sauce and mashed potatoes. She still has a drain in and the swelling in her brain has gone down to normal levels. She is talking but it takes a little effort and she tires easily. She hasn’t been up yet, don’t know when they will try that. She has movement in her upper body, but not sure if she has any strength in her legs. Guess we will all find out when they sit her up and then try to stand her.

She is talking and most of the time she is clear about things, but when she gets tired her words get mixed up. She makes mistakes sometimes (names and things like that) but she stops and realizes that she is saying the wrong thing. Little by little, each day is better.

Jenn says they don’t know how  long she will be in ICU. Not too much longer I hope….. the sooner out the better. Just wish I was closer so I could do my turn keeping her company. She has visitors and family has been coming to be with her. Might be a while before she makes it back to Ohio.

Not much more to tell you right now………hopefully Jenn will have more info tomorrow.
