    Sunday July 1

Well, another day is done and what a day!….. Started out with a regular breakfast followed by a pile of pills. Then while I went and ran some errands Jenn and Ker got up and cleaned up and dressed and all the good stuff. Got back in time for lunch at the kitchen table and then Dad came for a visit. Jenn, Ker and their Dad even got a chance to take a walk outside and enjoy the bright sunshine. Later, cousin Paul came for a visit. Unfortunately he got here when Ker had timed out for the afternoon, guess she managed to stay awake for a short time and then la…

    Saturday, June 30th

Seems like an almost “normal” day… meds, getting Kerrie out of bed, putting her back to bed, more meds, IV’s.. later more meds and tube feedings. She has a ton more medication than before, but once Mom got it organized it doesn’t seem so overwhelming. Even though it’s been 2 months since we had to do any of this stuff ourselves, it was easy to remember. Except for when I had to be the one to show MOM how to start the IV pump :)  HA! Mom brought home a few different new cars today, and Kerrie tried getting in out and out them to see which would be the…

    Thursday Nite

Well, the refrigerator is stocked…… Chocolate milk, orange juice, HagenDaz (hi fat) chocolate ice cream, cream cheese and hot dogs. I told Ker to enjoy her last few meals at HFH, cause she just isn’t going to get that service here. But, at least I’ll keep some of the staples (above) in the house. 🙂 Just waiting for the final word in the morning. As long as nothing adverse shows up on her lab results the discharge will be written. She will get a blood transfusion before leaving and maybe platelets too. Then as soon as Sis arrives (that’s what they call Jenn at HF) we will hit the road.…

    Thursday, June 28th… morning

Love how Mom says she’s going to make a short post and then goes on.. and on.. and on… 🙂 Just glad she’s been posting. I have barely been able to make it to the site, let alone post anything. Happy Kerrie is coming home, not happy that she is not ready for any other treatment right now, but guess we have to take the good with the bad… Ker-bear… you know I am scared to death of hanging those IV’s. Terrified of the air bubbles.. but I will do my best. It figures you would have more of them now! When the machine beeps that there is an air…

    Monday, June 25th

Hi everyone, Am down at HFH and can’t get into the admin page to post on the Home page, so hopefully you are checking the gallery (and Jenn will move this when she sees it). The roller coaster ride is at a plateau again. The doctor came in this morning and it seems that Kerrie’s bilirubin is still going down. She is cautiously optimistic about it. There will be another bone marrow biopsy , probably tomorrow and then when the results are in she will formulate a plan……Oh, please, let it be a positive plan! Kerrie is going to special procedures tomorrow to have her gallbladder tube checked and probably…

    Saturday Night the 23rd

Hello Everyone, Just got back from another wonderful evening at good ole HFH. Got down after work and ran in the room ready to eat my dinner….. the 2/3 that Ker leaves on her tray every day……….low and behold!!!! the plate was bare………she et it all!!!!! Left nary a bite for her starvin mom. so after grumbling a little I made the trek to Little Ceaser’s (in the hospital) and nabbed a sandwich. You can only eat so many pizzas and in the last 10 months we have had our share. Got Ker up for a bit, she tires pretty quickly right now, but actually looked and acted a little…

    wednesday evening June 20th

Hello Everyone, am at home picking up a few necessities for the next few days and will try to give you a very brief update. Kerrie had a gastroscopy this afternoon (a scope of the esophagus and stomach and upper bowel). Nothing, nothing, nothing!!!! except for a little ulcer at the suture line of her bariatric surgery. “Suture line, ulcer?” I said. “Do you think it is the fistula (opening) into the remnent stomach?” She doesn’t have a fistula I was told. “Yes she does” I said. I told you that before I left (was kicked) out of the room. Puzzled look, she can’t have a fistula, it must have…
