Another busy day for Ker-Bear… Speech Therapy started at 9:00am then Physical Therapy. According to Mom, they had her up and out of bed for almost 4 hours today!! You Go Kerrie. I think the best part is that when they got her up and out of bed Mom got her into new Pajama bottoms. It’s the first time that girls had something on, other than a hospital gown ( that’s barely draped over her) since October. Kerrie thought it was great. Even better, is that they were a size Large. We are a little concerned that she’s losing too much weight but if she could fully comprehend the size…

Kerrie’s been approved for another full week of Physical Therapy! Looks like she made the one day she was actually able to do anything really count. Found out they had her on the parallel bars on Friday… don’t get images of her doing gymnastic flips, she was only standing there… but she was able to do it. I just found out, yesterday, that she had been approved for another full week… and was a little surprised when Ron mentioned this. Mom’s been so busy, and talking to so many people, that she can’t remember what she’s told me and what she hasn’t. I suppose I can let her off the…

Wow, I see a big change in Kerrie from when I saw her two weekends ago. Ron, Mom and I had all noticed that she was getting worse.. lethargic, not very communicative but I think this definately had to do with the pain med patch she was on. The patch has been gone a few days now and she is a completely different person. I walked in last night, she took one look at me and had a huge smile on her face. She could barley smile the last week or so… Her speech is much clearer, she’s making a lot more sense and actually able to handle complex issues…

Sounds like Kerrie had a pretty active day today.. Mom says she’s more alert, now that some of the pain meds have worn off, and that she did a decent job with her PT. Not sure why they were playing musical chairs with her bed, but they changed her bed to a different one, it was too short.. so, changed it again. Mom and Kerrie’s nurse had just finished getting her into the new bed when I talked to them tonight. Kerrie was too busy, watching Grey’s Anatomy, to talk to me for too long ..but she sounded better than I have heard her sounds in days. Today was Day…

Still at work, have just gotten off the phone with Ron, and not a lot to tell about Kerrie right now. From what Ron said, she’s still been pretty snowed by her pain meds today and has just been out of it. They have removed the pain patch, on her arm, and will go back to giving her oral pain meds. Unfortunately, the medicine in the patch builds up in your system, so it may be a few days before all the effects of this wear off.  Good thing is that she may be more alert once it wears off.. bad thing.. today is DAY 2 of her three day…

Strange.. I wrote Tuesday’s post on Tuesday afternoon and it appeared on the page. I log in this morning and it’s gone.. go back in to the admin section and there’s the post waiting to be put on the page. Either I am losing my mind or there is something wrong?! After the corruption problem, James found the other day, I guess I am not surprised. James, would this have anything to do with the outrageous amount of spam we are getting, in the comments sections, from Posts in August, September and October? I am deleting at least 20 – 30 a day and have barely caught up. Also marking…

Kerrie moved back to NOMC today! Keep your fingers crossed.. today was DAY 1 of being evaluated for her ability to do PT and it was not a great day. She was tired, and they had given her additional pain killers ( and ativan), because of high blood pressure, so she was kind of knocked out today. Occupational Therapy met with her today, as did Speech Therapy.. I asked Mom if today counted as part of the three days she has and, of course, today is Day 1. Tomorrow will be a better test.. after she’s relaxed in her new surroundings, isn’t on Ativan and has her normal level of…

If all goes well, the ambulance will be picking Kerrie up at 9:00am to take her to NOMC. That’s the plan anyway. Mom was packing up Kerrie’s room, and didn’t like the way she was breathing or sounding, so she insisted on chest x-rays. Haven’t gotten the results yet, but as long as there is no problems.. like pnemonia, Kerrie will be leaving Henry Ford in the morning. On one hand, this is really good news… on the other hand, Kerrie has 3 days to prove she is strong enough and can handle the Intensive Physical Therapy. If she isn’t able to do it, or plays her little game of…

James has fixed the little problem we were having, so posts and comments will now be able to be seen. Thanks James. Kerrie had a decent day, with a few visitors. She told me she was very happy that she had company .. so, Aunt Karol, Mike, Wendy, Aunt Bonnie, Alicia & Heather.. thank you. You made her day. Saturday was rough for her.. I was snowed in, Dad was snowed in and the roads got so bad that Mom wasn’t able to get back to the hospital either. I’m sure she as lonley, but I think today made up for it. When I talked to her, tonight, she just…

Didn’t go to Michigan this weekend and feeling terrible about it. The plan was to have me stay home next weekend, so I could get some things done before my next recruiting trip, but Mom suggested I stay home this weekend instead. Didn’t go to Michigan, last night, due to another obligation and was going to drive up today. I would have to leave early tomorrow, so it makes sense that I just wait until next weekend.. but I am very homesick for my sister. Dad’s been snowed in, again, and can’t make it this weekend.. so, she won’t have all the visitors she was looking forward to. Kerrie, please…
