Wow, I see a big change in Kerrie from when I saw her two weekends ago. Ron, Mom and I had all noticed that she was getting worse.. lethargic, not very communicative but I think this definately had to do with the pain med patch she was on.

The patch has been gone a few days now and she is a completely different person. I walked in last night, she took one look at me and had a huge smile on her face. She could barley smile the last week or so…

Her speech is much clearer, she’s making a lot more sense and actually able to handle complex issues like whether she will fit into a size 14 or 16 pant :)  She had her folley catheter removed, so now it’s possible for her to wear pants some of the time and get rid of that awful hospital gown. That will at least be nice during her physical therapy. Mom was discussing what size she might need, since she’s lost so much weight, and Kerrie said ” I think we should start with a 16.. it might be a 14 though. Let’s start with a 16.”  A few days ago she would have just said “uh huh”

Still a tiny little problem with using the right words for things.. 🙂

This morning, when PT came in, she looked at them and said “are you going to bend me over and do me?” I almost burst out laughing.. but instead said,”Kerrie, do you mean are they going to get you out of bed?”.. She said that’s what she meant :)  Very funny..

Kerrie, save that for when Dr. McDreamy comes in the room 🙂

She’s doing well, no word on whether PT has submitted a final evaluation on her 3 day trial.. but if we haven’t heard we have to move I suppose that’s a good thing.

At Mom’s right now, for a shower and to get cleaned up, and will then head back to NOMC. It looks like we may finally have a weekend where Dad doesn’t get snowed in and he may be able to come see Kerrie today!!

So far, it’s a good day… just as long as Kerrie doesn’t ask too many people if they are going to bend her over and do her 🙂

So good to hear that Kerrie is more alert. I hope you are keeping a log of all the things Kerrie says and what you think she really means. It should make good reading for her when she is all better. Who knows you might get it published someday and let others enjoy the humor.

Those pain meds play havoc on the mind. Glad to hear Kerrie is back with her surroundings. Keep up the good work, Kerrie. Love you all, Pat

Wonderful News! I’ve asked that question myself a couple of times… and I wasn’t on pain meds! LOL!!! (I can hear Allyson saying “EEEEEEWWWWWWWWUUUUUUUU”).
