Friday, March 9
Rushing around my office, trying to get out of here and get home.. need to throw a few things in a bag, hop in the car and make the 4 hour drive to Michigan.  Since I had the flue last week, I wasn’t able to go home.. so it’s been two weeks since I have seen my baby sister! Can’t wait to get there! Spoke to Mom and not much new to tell today. Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy as usual…. Tomorrow I will start learning to help Kerrie with things like transferring from the bed to the wheelchair, getting her shoes on, etc. Yes.. she has SHOES.…

Thursday, March 8
I see there’s another comment posted from Kerrie, so unless she managed to sneak out of her room and get to a computer, Mom must have had her out for a stroll again. Mom insisted I didn’t need to worry about the computer being disinfected, because Kerrie only types with one finger.. and then she promptly licks her finger off to make sure she keeps it clean 🙂 Actually, Kerrie tells Mom what to say and Mom types it.. all except for her name. Kerrie types that herself. Today’s comment shows a bit of a change in Kerrie. Most people may not have even noticed ( I’ll admit I didn’t…

Wednesday, March 7th
After waiting all day, finally got the news that Kerrie has been approved to stay in Rehab until at least next Tuesday!! They’ll re-evaluate her then and determine what her status is.. so, she’s been granted a repreive and we have a little more time. Yes, we want her home but this is good news. The more Rehab she can get, before she comes home, the better..and it gives us more time to prepare. Hopefully, she’s not too disappointed to have to stay a little longer. I know she’s scared about coming home, but I’m sure she wants to get out of there as soon as she can. Not much…

Tuesday, March 6th
What a surprise I got when I read through the comments, on the blog about the fall in the shower, and saw a comment from KERRIE! I have it on good authority that she had some help typing it, but that she typed her name by herself. Kerrie announced to Mom today that she wanted to get out of her hospital room, so Mom got her in the wheelchair and they went for a walk.. found a secret corner of the hospital, where there was a computer just sitting there, and decided to check out the web page ( Sorry.. can’t give away the secret location). Mom’s so excited, telling…

Monday, March 5th
Changes.. changes… changes. Like I said in an earlier post, Kerrie is probably coming home on Friday but I’ll be prepared for changes. Looks like those changes could happen and we should know in the next day or two. The insurance company is still suggesting Kerrie go home tomorrow, Mom is still telling them “Not a chance”.. and the Rehab Team may ask for at least another week with Kerrie. That’s the short version of what’ going on I guess. Mom is meeting with with the Rehab Team tommorrow and we’ll see what happens. We want Kerrie home, but we know she still needs the intensive rehab she’s getting at…

The 4:30am Nasty Fall In The Shower On The Day I Was Leaving…
Editor’s Note: This post contains no information about Kerrie. If you would prefer to only read posts that contain information about Kerrie please check back at a later time. London is a very expensive city. Probably one of the most expensive in the world.. if not the most expensive city. So, to save a little money my friends and I decided we would book the cheapest hotel we could find.. within a certain area of the city. My criteria? I wanted to be within walking distance of Buckingham Palace. Even if it meant a really crudy room for a cheap price. What does the room really matter? We aren’t going…

Sunday, March 4th
Nothing exciting to report today… Mom worked most of the day and then spent a few hours with Kerrie. Blah day for Kerrie I guess and Mom says she’s kind of bored. I suppose I would be to if I’d been in the hospital for almost 8 1/2 months and had only been able to lay in bed and watch TV for the last 5 of them. Rehab may be pretty hard for her, but I bet it’s a nice break from the TV. Mom’s at the house tonight, trying to get the last of the miscellaneous stuff cleaned out before the cleaning crew comes tomorrow. She sounds tired.. but…

Saturday, March 3rd 10:30pm
The garage got emptied, the knick-knacks packed away, furniture moved and ramp built.. Thanks to Ron and his friends, Alisa and our cousin Chris. They even managed to do it without me 🙂 From the sounds of it, it was an all day job… but they got it done. Mom worked all day, and wasn’t able to get away to help them, but at least that’s one less thing she has to worry about. Kerrie spent the day sleeping, watching TV.. and probably dreaming about coming home soon. I spent the day laying on the couch sleeping, watching TV.. and dreaming about Kerrie coming home soon. I don’t know what…

Saturday, March 3rd
My phone rang last night and was surprised to see the call was coming from Kerrie’s cell phone. I had missed the call, so before I called back I just sat and stared at the phone for a minute.. it was so strange to see her name on my cell phone. Don’t know why, but when I called back I called Mom’s cell phone instead. Was later told I should have called Kerrie’s phone.. Kerrie had picked up her phone, searched for the number and called me herslef. No help from Mom. I know I should have called her phone instead.. just felt strange. Next time I’ll call her phone…

Friday, March 2nd
Poor Mom.. she is really stressed out right now. Got word, this afternoon, that Kerrie could potentially be discharged on Tuesday. There is NO way the house can be ready by then. Garage and furniture moving gets done this weekend, ramp building gets done this weeked, house cleaning is scheduled for Monday, Carpets scheduled for Tuesday.. don’t have a clue when the bed, wheelchair, other medical items etc are being delivered. Mom told them there was no way and that Friday was her target date. Kerrie is also scheduled for an appointment, with Dr. Jana, at Henry Ford on Friday… Mom, not sure how any of this works… but just…
