Rushing around my office, trying to get out of here and get home.. need to throw a few things in a bag, hop in the car and make the 4 hour drive to Michigan.
Since I had the flue last week, I wasn’t able to go home.. so it’s been two weeks since I have seen my baby sister! Can’t wait to get there!
Spoke to Mom and not much new to tell today. Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy as usual…. Tomorrow I will start learning to help Kerrie with things like transferring from the bed to the wheelchair, getting her shoes on, etc. Yes.. she has SHOES. Real, honest to goodness shoes. Hasn’t worn them since October, so I bet she just looks spiffy in her new Reeboks.
She’s used to laying around all weekend and only getting her PT in bed.. not this weekend. With having to do some training, I am going to have to get her up!! She may not like it, but she’ll get over it 🙂
Maybe she can show me the secret computer she and Mom have been sneaking off to and we can post a brief message.
Sometime this weekend I will be putting a post on here about another young woman in a situation similiar to Kerrie’s. Her name is Kristy and she’s also located in Michigan. I discovered her a few days ago, have had some contact with her brother and would like to tell everyone about her. Tight on time right now, so will tell you more about her tomorrow.. but I would encourage everyone to go to www.youtube.com and check out the video her brother, Rob, posted. You’ll find her under the category of “people” and the video is entitled Kristy’s House. When I first saw it I couldn’t help but sit on my couch and cry. It hits pretty close to home.. but it was amazing to suddenly feel like we weren’t all alone in what’s happened to all of us and that there was hope ahead.
Rob’s video, and Kristy’s web page, also gave me some great ideas for some things to do for Kerrie ( Thanks Rob)… and Rob, if you happen to see this post.. I received your e-mail today but just haven’t had a chance to respond. You, Kristy and your family are in our prayers!
If you get a minute, please check out the video and Kristy’s page.. and keep them in your prayers.
Have to hit the road.. miss my sister and need to get to her as soon as I can.

Hi Jenn,
I will be checking that site and video out for sure. I’m glad that Kerrie the only one with this too. It sounds like Kristy & Kerrie are both really good fighters when it comes to this and that is great that neither one of them are giving up.
Jenn you will do great taking care of Kerrie once she is home and Joan you will be awesome also. It takes patience and I know the both of you have it and will do great. Please keep up with the good work and please give Kerrie a big hug from Joe, Christy & I. Thanks
We love you Kerrie
Sandy
