Friday, May 4th
Mom and Kerrie had another busy day today.. ENT ( ear, nose and throat) paid Kerrie a visit at 12:30am.. love that fact that they want to come stick stuff up her nose in the middle of the night.. but at least they said everything looked good. No horrible suctioning like she had when she was in ICU, and shortly after she got out of ICU. Nasal cavaties look good.. Yeah. At least something does. Today she had another MRI ( this was the one originally scheduled for her Gal Bladder Surgery) and then they did another CT-Scan. Once again, she’s having an allergic reaction to the contrast dye.. so…

Thursday May whatever, 2007 (I think)
NEWS FROM HENRY FORD (HOSPITAL THAT IS) Hi Everyone, Not sure what the date is today, but pretty sure it is Thursday 🙂 Ran home to clean up and straighten up as our departure for downtown was kind of frantic yesterday. Takes so long to do things and when we are on a time schedule I tend to fall behind. Ker had a busy day yesterday. Lots of doctors in to say hello and tell us they’d be back later for a more in depth visit. She had a CT scan of the chest last evening and other than that it quieted down. This morning before it got light…

Wednesday, May 2
Kerrie arrive at Henry Ford, this morning, and was greeted by one of her favotire nurses… Joi. Although Kerrie was not all that happy about having to go back in to the hospital, I am sure she was happy to see everyone and easily felt at “home”. The nurses knew she was coming and had a “We missed you Kerrie” sign in her room waiting for her. The morning was busy, and when I talked with Mom they were planning on visits from several different doctors.. she had pulmonary function tests, a CT Scan and some other tests scheduled for this afternoon so I am sure it was a pretty…

Two Steps Forward……… and One Step Back
TWO STEPS FORWARD What an awesome day! Started when without thinking I was putting on Ker’s socks and I asked her to lift up her right foot…… and she did. All of a sudden I realized what she had done and I told her and she said “I did?” and then smiled…. seems like a small step, but for her an important one. Despite her not feeling totally up to par, we went to therapy and did she do good! Hadn’t heard from Henry Ford and figured the blood work done on Monday was OK. OT went well, she stood, balanced, worked on her modified sit ups and generally kept…

Sunday, April 29
Work has been crazy the last two days, with all of our employees processing in for the summer, so it’s been almost impossible to get on here to give you an update. Sorry about the delay.. Kerrie was feeling pretty cruddy Saturday and Sunday, early in the day, but Mom say’s she feeling and looking a lot better now. No fever, for the moment, and is acting more herself. Dad came to visit today, which gave Mom and opportunity to get out of the house for a while! They did “homework” for speech therapy and “lots of other stuff for 3 or 4 hours”.. as Kerrie put it. She said…

Friday, April 27
So.. it turns out Kerrie may have pneumomia. Henry Ford Hospital called, Thursday, while Kerrie and I were on our way home.. but Mom’s answering machine doesn’t beep when it has a message, so I didn’t know there was a message waiting for us. The BMT Team called, Friday morning, to see why we hadn’t called them back. Her chest x-rays show something that could be pneumonia or a fungal infection, so they want to do a CT-Scan. Unless she starts running a fever, or her blood counts have dropped when they come to take her blood on Monday, they will do this when she goes in for her regular…

Thursday, April 26
What a long, crazy day Kerrie and I had! Our transportation to Henry Ford showed up 15 minutes early, so Mom had to rush around getting Kerrie ready while I tried to get myself ready.. then the traffic was so bad it took us well over an hour to get there, so we were late for her appointment. They took her blood, and she relaxed in front of the funky new TV’s that had been installed in the rooms. She was happy, since she had a TV, and didn’t mind that we would have to wait more than an hour for Dr. Jana to come in and let us know…

Wednesday, April 25
No wonder Kerrie doesn’t complain about going to Rehab.. her Physical Therapist is very cute 🙂 She’ll probably want to slap me for putting that on here, but hey.. whatever keeps her motivated works for me. We started out with Occupational Therapy and they let me get involved. I had to hold out some foam balls and make her reach for them. Maybe I was holding them out a little too far, because she was really straining to get to some of them but she did it. After an hour of OT we moved on to Speech Therapy… Kerrie worked on her spelling, word recall and picture recognition and got…

Tuesday, April 24
Just got to Mom’s.. Kerrie’s still awake, but doubt she will be for long. She looks exhausted, but said she had a really good day today. Physical Therapy was “good”.. and she, Mom and Tim ( Her Physical Therapist) practiced getting in and out of the car today. Tomorrow it will be my turn. If it goes well, I may actually try driving her to Henry Ford on Thursday.. but still having nightmares about the day she almost fell, and I was trying to hold her up.. she’s stronger now though, so it shouldn’t be so hard. If she’s up to it.. we may give it a try. Mom and…

Monday, April 23
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to talk to Mom or Kerrie today, and it’s getting late, so thought it best that I not call them now. Mom, if you happen to check the page before you pass out for the night… maybe you could find the energy to put a little note in the gallery 🙂 I know Kerrie was going to have a few people coming by to see her today. One was someone to take a look at her wheelchair, to see if the arms could be tightened, and the other was someone who was supposed to see about getting her fitted for a shoulder/arm splint for…
