Mom and Kerrie had another busy day today.. ENT ( ear, nose and throat) paid Kerrie a visit at 12:30am.. love that fact that they want to come stick stuff up her nose in the middle of the night.. but at least they said everything looked good. No horrible suctioning like she had when she was in ICU, and shortly after she got out of ICU. Nasal cavaties look good.. Yeah. At least something does.
Today she had another MRI ( this was the one originally scheduled for her Gal Bladder Surgery) and then they did another CT-Scan. Once again, she’s having an allergic reaction to the contrast dye.. so all swollen, red, itchy and uncomfortable. When I spoke with Mom, they had given her a benedryl cocktail, so she was drifting off to sleep.
I guess the MRI, from last week, shows there is no infection but that the carotoid artery ( or something like that) has completed closed off.. Mom said something about Kerrie’s brain having developed circulation around it, so the doctors weren’t going to do anything about it. Not quite sure what all this means.. but maybe it will make sense after Mom and I have had both had a little sleep and I can ask her to explain it to me. There is also some fluid, showing up somewhere on the MRI, but that the doctors weren’t concerned about this either… OK. As long as they’re not I’ll try not to worry about it.
The Chest X-rays show a spot on her lungs that the doctors are probably going to want to check out. Mom mentioned something about them wanting to get a “sample”.. and not sure that I want to know just how they will do this exactly.
Mom was heading home, to get some sleep, and then getting up at 3:00am to get ready for work tomorrow. Unless there is somethign major in some of the tests, nothing will probably be done until Monday.
It’s a really busy weekend for me, but I ‘ll try to keep in contact with Mom and keep you updated.
