Monday, May 28
Well, I was hoping Mom would have gotten a post on here in the last two days… I’m depending on this site for information just as much as everyone else these days! I did talk to Ker-Bear for a little while tonight. She sounded happy to hear from me, but didn’t really have much to tell. No visitors, other than Mom and big brother Ron, the last few days.. and I won’t be able to make it in again until Saturday. When I asked if she’d had visitors she said, “Yes.. visitors but not visitors..” so I took it that she meant lots of people had been in and out…

Saturday
Another night at good ole HFH. What did you do today Kerrie? “Oh, a lot of nothing” what did the doctor say today. “Oh, the usual” Ok, not much news. Watched some TV (Forrest Gump for the umpteenth time). A nice phone call from her buddy Donna. Then played a game of Bingo….. Kerrie won. Then time for premeds….. Benadryl, etc.. Kerrie said, “better stop now…. I’ll be out shortly” And she was, but…….. enough energy for “I’d like a milk shake”. so out to the pantry, into the freezer, out with the ice cream, back to the room, into the frig, and out with the BOOST (Thanks Aunt Jeannine)…

Friday May 25
Okay, Okay, I’ll get something on here! Sorry, been busy too…….but not opening a park, just cruising with Ker. Not much has changed….. still going thru the “what is this” business. Kerrie’s labs continue to be up when they should be down and down when they should be up. She gets lots of replacements for things like potassium. We finally figured out how to give her some extra besides thru the IV (which can be touchy as Potassium aka K can cause some cardiac changes). when we have tried to put it in the feeding tube directly she gets very sick immediately. Last nite tried to get her to swallow…

Thursday, May 24th
I hate to say it, but we’ve been so overwhelmed at work that I haven’t spoken to Mom or Kerrie in two days. I logged on tonight, hoping that I would find Mom and Kerrie had put an update on here, but no luck. Now I know how you all feel when you log on and there’s nothing here. Kerrie has my laptop again, so maybe she’ll get a quick message on here in the next day or two. Mom, if you happen to get a chance please let us know what’s going on 🙂 One more day until Park Opening and then I can get some rest, have time…

Tuesday, May 22nd
Breakfast : Two chocolate milks and a few bites of bacon. Very tasty. I tried to get her to eat some of her eggs, but she was so full of chocolate milk she couldn’t manage it. I think we need to limit her to one chocolate milk, per meal, or else she’s going to turn into a giant, brown container with Elsie printed on her back. At the moment, we are watching TV.. drinking chocolate milk.. and waiting for the doctors to come in. Marce and Linda, the staff loves the picture display board you made for Relay for Life. Kerrie loves it too!!! We have it proudly displayed in…

Monday, May 21st
Kerrie has had an interested day today..there was this organization at the hospital and they came and did make-overs for the patients and their care givers,so Mom and Kerrie got “made over”, were given a whole bunch of Clinic and Lancome products and even got serenaded from a retired opera singer. Their make-up artist was a retired opera singer, who did work with theatrical make-up and had come with the organization to do make-overs with the patients. He sang to Mom and Kerrie… and Kerrie thought he was great. Around 6:00pm, I called her to see how her day had been.. “Hi Kerrie, How are you?” “I’m pretty good. How…

Sunday, May 20th
Got to talk to Ker-bear tonight and, although she sounded kind of drugged, she seemed like her spirits were up. She swears she hadn’t gotten her drugs yet, so maybe she was just tired. It sounds like she had a good day, with a few visitors, so I’m glad I didn’t have to worry about her bieng alone all day while Mom and I were working. Dad’s home bound right now, and on crutches, but Ron was able to make it down to the Hospital and she had a suprise visit from Aunt Michelle and Uncle Greg… Mom had just gotten there, when I called, and Kerrie said she was…

Saturday, May 19th
Haven’t been able to reach Mom or Kerrie, so have no idea how today went. Mom had to work, TJ’s birthday party was today.. so Ron was tied up, I couldn’t come in from Ohio… so, unless Dad made it to the hospital today, Kerrie spent the day alone :(  It was so hectic at work, that I never had a chance to call Dad to see if he was going to visit Kerrie today, or to see how he’s healing from his foot surgery. Unless I’m able to talk to Mom tonight, nothing to report on Kerrie.. other than I miss my sister terribly! Jenn

Friday, May 18
No post since Wednesday.. and I know everyone has been looking and waiting. This will be a long one.. and I will do my best to try to get all the information correct and explain it as easily as I can. Kerrie had a new Pic line installed in her arm today, so that she would have more ports available for her IV’s. They kept having to put in perifial IV’s ( what I call normal IV’s) in her arms and hand, and her veins just can’t take this. So.. another Pic line with more access ports. Although there are still more “finalized” reports to come for the Bone Marrow Biopsy, the…

Wednesday, May 16th
Had hoped there would be at least a preliminary result of the Biopsy, but Mom hadn’t heard anything today. She’s guessing we’ll hear by Friday. I had a couple people, at work, ask how a bone marrow biopsy is done… I guess I thought we had explained this before, but for anyone who may have missed those posts.. and is wondering.. it’s not as simple as a needle biopsy or a “scraping” type biopsy. They insert thing really long needle into her hip bone, through the bone, and into the marrow.. yeah, don’t want to think about that without taking a deep breath ( and maybe a drink). That’s why…
