Finally found a few minutes that I could stop what I was doing and post some info about Kerrie ( well, didn’t really find a few minutes but figured if I don’t stop what I am doing it will be midnight before I get on here again). When I got back to Detroit, Monday night, Mom took me right to the Hospital to see Kerrie.. couldn’t wait to see her, missed her more than I even imagined I could and was practically in tears waiting for the elevator to get me to the 7th floor. Sorry there was no update yesterday.. spent 6 hours in the ER.. due to that nasty 4:30am fall in the shower.. and then had to go back this morning for more tests. Getting ready to head to the airport and trying to get a post on here ( before Mom walks in the door and starts yelling, from the bottom of the stairs, that we have to get going 🙂 ) I woke up to find Kerrie laying on the side of her bed, trying to look at me through the open space in the bed rail. Got to Kerrie’s room, around 4:30pm, yesterday and she was sleeping.. briefly opened her eyes, said, “Hi. How are you?” and then promplty went back to sleep.  So.. sat down in the chair next to her and promptly went to sleep… Ron walked in at 5:45pm.. Kerrie opened her eyes briefly. Not much to tell about Kerrie today.. Mom called, on her way home from work this morning, and said Kerrie was doing well. No new snow today.. and no news about Kerrie. Tried to call Mom a few minutes ago, but she didn’t answer the phone.. I suppose no news is still good news. Exhausted from work, and trying to get everything ready for my trip without falling asleep on my feet, so will be heading to bed. Did you know that the majority of identity theft/credit card fraud problems originate in Europe and Asia? This will be important later.. so, read on. Because the majority of these problems occur overseas, you are supposed to notify your bank and credit card companies where you will be traveling.. otherwise, they may shut down your card if strange, overseas purchases show up. I first found this out, in 2004, an hour before I left for the airport on my 20 day, whirlwind trip around Europe ( 11 countries and 19 cities in 20 days.. lots of fun, best vacation I ever had, but not really important to this story 🙂…

Sitting in my office, extremly stressed and busy as usual, when the phone rings.. It’s 4:30pm, and without even looking at the phone, I know it’s Mom. How do I know this? Because she is the only one who would call me at 4:30pm when I have two days left to finish all my work before I come back to Michigan and then head off to another recruiting trip in Europe. I almost don’t answer the phone. So busy… so much to do.. had to cut her off, yesterday, to take a phone call from Russia and too busy to talk now. Really, she knows I’m overwhelmed this week, but…

“Mom… Mom… I hate to have to tell you this, but I have to go to the bathroom..” and that’s how Mom’s day started, somewhere around 5:00am, this morning…. Even though their day started early, it sounds like it was a good day. Every Tuesday, Kerrie and Mom will meet with the PT, OT and ST teams to discuss Kerrie’s progress and their meeting today went well. Kerrie has a long way to go, but the Teams all said Kerrie was doing well and they were happy with the little bit of progress she has shown in the past few days.
