Not much to tell about Kerrie today.. Mom called, on her way home from work this morning, and said Kerrie was doing well. Physical Therapy was on their way in, when Mom left, and Kerrie was in good spirits. Hopefully, she was still in good spirits when they got done with her:)

The snow saga continued today.. I had dug out my driveway as much as I could, and had been able to get in and out of the driveway with a little effort and careful driving, but this morning God must have decided I’d had it too easy for a day or two. No point in letting me have only a semi-hectic day at work today. No point in letting me get everything done that I needed to, so I could head to Michigan with a mind at ease…

As I pulled out of the driveway I could tell it was a little slippery, but didn’t realize just how slippery until I was sliding towards the front yard. Sliding backwards, into a huge pile of snow is fun.. if you are on a sled. So.. ended up partially in the front yard.. snow up to the doors of the car ( keep in mind I have an SUV.. I’m not talking about my little Saturn here).

Once I realized I was VERY stuck I called my friend, Colleen, to share my morning adventure with her and then hopped out of the car to head for the shovel. The snow was above my Knees and I was sinking quickly. Not a good time to be wearing those cute, little brown italian loafers ( yet again.. did not listen to mother and wear boots to work).

Managed to dig my way around the car, the whole time thinking about the report on the news last night… the one about people 40 – 50 who have heart attacks shoveling snow, because they want to act like they are in their 20’s and be macho about it. Well, I wasn’t being macho but I was late for work.. on a very tight schedule.. and running out of time before I had to leave for Michigan and my plane to Europe. Nothing can ever just be easy and relaxed. Not for me.. if it was simple I’d be bored.

Once I dug around the tires the car looked like a giant decoration sitting on top of a huge sheet cake with white frosting.. so shoveled underneath the car just for good measure. I’m sure I looked pretty funny doing it 🙂

Finally got someone who had caught up enough with their clients that they could come plow my driveway.. was happy to see that snow plow tonight 🙂

Then, once again, I thought I would open my mail. Twice in one week.. that’s a record for me. There was a very beautiful valentine’s day card from Mom and inside the card.. a valentine from Kerrie. A cute little card, like the ones we would give people in elementary school.. with Nascar # 38 on it. A very “Kerrie” kind of card.. she even filled out my name and hers on it. The writing looks like a third grader, but it’s pretty special because Kerrie actually wrote it herself… and with the valentine.. a picture of Kerrie blowing me kisses.

Best Valentine I’ve ever received 🙂

love you Kerrie. Can’t wait to see you tomorrow afternoon.

Jenn
