Chemo # 1 over and done

Hi All,

Just wanted to give you all a quick update. Doing fine from the first round of Chemo. At least so far…

They gave me some pre-meds and the benedryl put me to sleep for most of the day. Woke up long enough to eat lunch with my darling husband and then one or two other times to say hello to him. He stayed in the doctors office all day and waited for me and I was sleeping most of the 8 hours we were there. What a sweetheart.

From what I have been told, I will start to see some side effects by Saturday.. and will feel pretty cruddy for about 7 days.. then will start to feel better and will start feeling great just in time for the next round of Chemo. Lucky me 🙂

HOpefully all goes well and I don’t experience  too much naseau… but I am sure Fuat will take good care of me.

I know people are worried about me.. but really, Fuat is the one people should be worried about. Poor guy 🙂

He’s having to deal with my surgery, chemo side effects, me being bald and missing a tooth… and then on top of all that he’s going to have to deal with me being thrown into abrupt and pre-mature menopause…The symptoms of that have started already 🙂

Really, he deserves a medal for everyting he’s going through. He is one incredible man and I am so darn lucky to have him with me right now.  ( But mom.. don’t worry.. I still miss you too )

I will let everyone know how I am in the next few days… praying and hoping for the best. Fuat, my darling, please forgive me for my mood swings and all that is about to come in the next few days :)  Insallah, it will all pass soon!!!

I’m glad to hear treatments are going well. I’m sorry to hear about what you are going through. I took a field trip of Vassar High School Students to Cedar Point on Wednesday last week. I told them about how I overshot the station by six cars and that is why the barriers come down as the train comes into frontier town. Going back there brings back a lot of great memories. In case I never said it before, thanks for helping me to get in there. That was the best two summers of my life. Get better. Love ya.
