Saturday, June 9th 9:30pm

The medication finished running around 8:30pm and Kerrie did very well. Her blood pressure went up and down a little, but nothing in the dangerous range and she seemed to tolerate it well. She slept almost the entire time… her pre-meds really knocked her out.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect today, but it’s obvious she will be out of it when she’s getting her infusions. She had several visitors today ( our cousins Chris & Jen Whitney, our Grandma Andree, Aunt Mary Jo and cousin Johnathon) and they lucked out.. Kerrie was awake by the time the first visitors showed up. Because of how much this really knocks her out, we are asking that you definately call before you come down to visit. We would want to make sure would be coherent, before you make the drive down here.

It was obvious the visitors really lifted her spirits and it was nice to see her smile!

We’re really proud of Kerrie, the decisions she’s made and how well she made it through this first dose. This was the most dangerous, since it’s not known how a patient will tolerate it, so we have good reason to believe she’ll do well with the next two.. then we just have to hope she doesn’t develop any other infections, etc. afterward. The next few weeks will be a big worry, but Part One of the rough part is out of the way. Mom may be able to elaborate on this medication and what we have been told to expect.

Please keep your messages coming. Kerrie hasn’t had the strenght to get on the page herself, but we made a deal last night and Mom and I will read the posts to her every day. Last night, she could barely keep her eyes open.. I would say, “We’ll read more tomorrow..” and she would say, “No.. read another one now.” She fell asleep listening to all your words of love and encouragment.

I have to head back to Ohio tonight, but will make sure Mom knows how to get onto the page so she can keep the updates coming until I get back on Wednesday.

Thank you for your prayers, your posts, your cards, your visits… anything that makes my sister smile is worth more than anything as far as I’m concerned.

Jenn
