The preliminary results of the liver biopsy are in.. and it’s what we were afraid of. Preliminary results show Kerrie has GVHD ( Graft Vs. Host Disease).
We knew this was a risk with the initial transplant, and an even greater risk when it was discovered the Myeloidyspastic Syndrome was back and they took her off the Prograf to give her immune system a chance to progress and fight the cancerous cells… so here we are.
They are treating the GVHD with steroids and have started the Prograf again… as for the MDS… can’t treat that until the GVHD is under control. Still waiting on the final DNA results from the Bone Marrow Biopsy, to see if they would need to try another Bone Marrow Transplant.. but will have to fight the GVHD first, before another transplant could be done.
So, again.. Here we are..Kerrie said she wants to get better and she’s not giving up!
This, of course, has her spirits down… Mom’s, Dad’s, Ron’s and mine too… but we’re not giving up either.
She’s going to keep fighting… we’re going to keep fighting.. and we’ll need everyone else to keep praying!!
on a lighter note.. if you haven’t noticed, or checked out the statistics lately, Kerrie’s page is about to hit 20,000 hits. I wonder who the lucky winner will be!
Now, if we can get 20,000 prayers going.. maybe Kerrie will be the big winner.

Jen, I was the lucky 10,000 hit, do I get a bigger prize for 20,000?? OK, I geuss I’d have to give my prize to Kerrie, which would be the healthiest immune system known to mankind. Hang in there Ker, show ’em what you’ve got. Other than new hair that is!! Luv, Laura and the last of the FBC family.

The “Last” of the FBC Family??? Maybe I should talk to my Mom more often. Have they made a lot of cuts at the Family Birthing Center????
