I was several hours late, getting to Michigan, yesterday and boy did Kerrie let me have it. I’d been so busy at work, I didn’t think to call her and she spent all day waiting for me.. and worried something had happened. When I finally called, after being 6 hours late, to tell her I was running behind she picked up the phone and said, “Well, it’s about time you thought to call!!” To make up for it, she forced me to make her a chocolatly milkshake.. and said I would have to make one for Ron and Alisa too.. she wanted a milkshake party. Ron and Alisa opted for just the ice cream, but Kerrie and I happily slurped on our milkshakes.. until the Dilauded kicked in and Kerrie feel asleep… arm in the air ( literally) and milk shake sitting on her chest.
Kerrie, I will never leave you waiting again.. and if I’m going to be late I will call you. I promise. There aren’t enough milkshakes in the world to make up for keeping you waiting, alone, all day and worried…
Dr. Jana came in this morning.. no word on the DNA testing yet or on the Liver Biopsy.. but the are giving her steroids and treating her as if they are assuming the Liver problems are GVHD. We’re really hoping this isn’t the case.. but the are trying to “get ahead” and treating the issue before they have confirmation of the biopsy results. They can alwasy stop the steroid treatment.
She’s drinking water like she used to eat ice chips, so we have to limit her water to one 20 oz cup every 3 hours. You hand her one and she drinks it in 30 minutes… we have to get her to slow down. Too much water is filling her up, she’s not eating, and it’s flushing out all the potassium they are giving her.
Her blood counts are still down, but Dr. Jana said no blood or platellet transfusions today.
Kerrie told me she’s feeling a little down today, so I’m going to try to cheer her up. I keep singing her silly songs, but my “beautiful” singining voice must be making her ill.. she keep sitting with her hand over her mouth 🙂 She swears that’s not the case.. and asks me to sing more silly songs, but my voice must be killing her. I’ll try tap dancing next.
I just asked Kerrrie if she had any messages for anyone.. she’s not feeling up to looking at the web page right now.. but she said to tell everyone she’s feeling better, hoping to come home soon and that she loves you!
We love you too Kerrie
