OK.. hands are shaking a little.. Sat down to put this post on and the house started shaking. It was like a low rumbling and I could feel the shaking getting stronger.. and then there was a huge THUD. My cat ran to the back of the house, I jumped up ( saying a few words I won’t repeat so that my Grandmother still thinks I’m a sweet angel 🙂 ).. and then I ran to the front of the house fully expecting to find a car had driven into my living room. Nothing wrong with the house.. walked the outside of the house and couldn’t find anything. Checked the furnace, the gas line, the water..everything worked. Then the news came on the TV.. we’ve just had a pretty big earthquake. IN OHIO! Heck, the way that felt I should have taken the job the company offered me, a few years ago, in California. Had no interest in going to “Earthquake Central” so didn’t even entertain the idea. I guess staying in Ohio didn’t keep me away from them. This was pretty big.. the cat is still freaked out and I’m still a little shaky, but nothing a stiff drink won’t cure.

Kerrie and I had a pretty good day today! I got a lot of training on lifting her, helping her get dressed, doing PT, OT & Speech Therapy excersizes with her and putting her back to bed. Putting her back do bed didn’t go too well.. she was pretty tired, after three hours of working out, and I almost didn’t get her back on the bed. We had to make two tries at it.. but finally got her in bed the right way. Then we realized we hadn’t gotten her undressed and had to do that while she was laying in bed. Next time we need to remember to do this while she’s still sitting in the wheelchair.

Kerrie is amazing! Absolutely amazing. I stood in disbelief as I watched her walk accross the parallel bars. She can’t do it without someone holding on to her support belt, but she did it. A few months ago she could barely move that leg and we were cheering when she wiggled her toes. She was exhausted, and all the excersizes were obviously too much for most people, but she never gave up. Even when she could barely breath, and I could tell she was in pain, she would just say “OK” and start again. She is my absolute hero.

Kerrie you are the most amazing woman I have ever known. Keep it up Ker-bear

    Hi Kerrie,
Yes, you are really amazing !!! Your spirit and determination are an inspiration to all of us. Keep up the wonderful progress and you will be back working at NOMC before long. I can’t wait to go outside and visit with you in the courtyard, spring is coming !!! My mom, Helen, cannot wait for you to return to Bingo, she really, really misses you. I would also like for you to be able to meet my sister, Linda. She has been the information desk for us here at home!!! We all miss you and we all know that you will be back soon. Work in the lab is still the same the only thing I really miss is seeing you walk in to get blood for transfusions for our patients. You always had a way of brightening up my day.
We are all praying for you and the many others that have suffered from the same disease.
    God Bless You,
    Love,
Donna DeVos, Helen & Linda Huboy

Kerrie, I come home from a long day at work, sign on to the K.A.S.T. website and sit here grinning a silly, happy grin! You have no boundaries Kerrie! You can do ANYTHING!

A quick note to Jenn… was the earthquake in OHIO? or MICHIGAN? An earthquake in OHIO is rare, but there is a pretty big fault that runs through the State, in fact one of the biggest quakes in U.S. history was along that fault back in the late 1800’s. But, if you were in Michigan, as I suspect you were, that’s INCREDIBLE!!! I’ve never heard of an earthquake in Michigan. Cool!!!!

Earthquake was in Ohio, centered about 2 miles from here. News said it was only a 3.6, but sure as heck felt bigger than that. I can’t imagine one of the 7 or 8’s that you’ve been through. As for Earthquakes in Michigan, I’ve felt two of them.. way back when we lived in Union Lake.
