Hello Everyone,
It’s been awhile since I have written……..If I had about 14 more hours in my day I’d be more efficient.
Has been a crazy week. Kerrie finished her chemotherapy on Tuesday and is still waiting to crash….but so far so good… She has ups and downs, but not the deep pit they predicted might happen. Still getting blood and platelets just about every day as her levels keep going down, but they are supposed to. Her white count is just about as low as it can get without entirely being wiped out (that will happen with the next round just before the transplant).
She started getting feedings through her IV as she just isn’t able to take in enough calories and nutrition orally. So far no problems with that and they have taken off the pressure for her to eat so much. She is back to the things she likes (tuna, regular oatmeal, etc.).
She has lots of bruises from the low platelets………most of her is a pretty shade of purple. You can tell every spot they’ve taken a blood pressure on or where she’s leaned on something.
Tuesday morning the doctor is going to repeat the bone marrow biopsy. They are checking to see if she is in remission yet. If so, she may come home in a few days for a week or so to rest, then back for the transplant (start packing Jenn). If not, then another round of chemo.
Will let you all know how that goes.
Ker is on line now, finally got the internet connection, she is checking her emails and website, but can only do a little at a time as she tires so easily and it kind of hard for her to read more than a little at a time. But she’s starting.
The great staff of the Family Birth Center and Kerrie’s good friend, Sandy, put on a bake sale Thursday at the hospital. I was absolutely overwhelmed by all the work they did and the generosity of the hospital staff, people from the OR and the Clinic and other departments who contributed and all the people who bought the baked goods. I have never known such a feeling of caring and it makes me feels so grateful that Kerrie and I have such wonderful friends.
Take care everyone, I will update you again soon, Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!. They are working and Ker really feels the energy coming her way.
Will write again soon,
Joan

Hey Kerri, I am sending you Reiki and Classy and everyone says hello. I guess this is the best way to convey to you how glad I am that you entered my life and showed me what strength is. I hope to see you one day.
Love
