Hi Everyone,
Well, another day done at good ole HFH. Our day started at 2:00 am in the ultrasound room in ER. Ker had to have another one so the doctor who was planning to do her procedure today could check everything out. Hopefully Kerrie doesn’t remember much of it cause it wasn’t too good for her. Lots of pain in her side and that’s where the tech had to keep pressing the probe. The am started out quiet, although Ker didn’t feel well, and had been getting more yukky as the weekend went on. At 10 am the nurse came in and said “they’re here for you†and off we went to Interventional Radiology for her drain procedure. The plan was to put a drain in the gall bladder to drain the fluid and get rid of the infection. By this time, all Kerrie wanted was to get rid of the pain, and I don’t think she was really aware of what else was going on. The doctor came to talk to us, and small world. He is related to an anesthesiologist at our hospital who I have known for years and who is a special favorite of Kerrie’s ( who also helped both Robyn and TJ get borned). It made the whole thing a little more personal………along with the fact that all the staff in that department now know us and say hi and come over and make us feel a little less strange. One of the techs wrapped Ker up from head to toe in warm blankets, I wish you could have seen her sigh and settle in to those blankets.
Â
Things went well, although I could hear Ker from the hallway when they took her in and were doing what ever they had to do to get her ready. I won’t go into detail except to say, it was very uncomfortable for her and I hope they were able to give her whatever she needed quickly so that she didn’t feel anything anymore. She came out in a little over an hour, and slept the rest of the afternoon and was still going in and out when I left tonight. The tube is in, her side is VERY sore, she needs help to turn because she really feels it, but the tube is draining well, and hopefully by tomorrow we should begin to see some changes in her labs and in her.
Â
I came home because someone else has reservations in the room tonight. Jenn is right now on a plane between Washington and Detroit…….due to get in at 11 pm. Jenn’s luggage however is somewhere between Sophia, Bulgaria; Munich, Germany and the US. Not to worry, she has pjs at HFH and she can always stop at Meijer’s after she gets here for some clean underwear. She sounded pretty tired when she called from the Washington airport, so hopefully she can snooze on the plane, get to Ker’s room and hit the sack (aka chair bed) ….she can’t complain, I even got her clean sheets!
Â
Tomorrow we celebrate Kerrie’s birthday, Hopefully she’ll be awake to join us…. and if she’s not we’ll just do it again on another day.
Â
That’s all for know……..I will turn this duty back to the creative writer, Jenn…….Take care everyone

Ker, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
It’s early, but I have a full day myself tomorrow and won’t be able to post. It’s not really a present I guess, but I have honestly thought about you every day since this started. I don’t know what else to do but think good thoughts, and let you know I care!
Stay Strong & Happy Birthday! 🙂

Happy Birthday Kerrie! I’m hoping and praying that you have a quiet comfortable day for a change. Afterall it IS your birthday…
Like Jason, I think about you every single day and continue to hope and pray for your consistent and strong comeback.
Jenn, I hope you had a good time in Europe. I’m so jealous I could just explode. I went online and looked up information on Bulgaria and Sophia. Looks like an AMAZING place. Lots of history and beautiful mountain scenery. And meeting nordic guys…. You and those Europeans…
Joan, thanks so much for keeping us all up to date these days. It’s good to get the “mother’s perspective” too. You and your family still amaze me with your patience, strength and courage.
Kerrie, your patience, strength and courage amaze me even more.
=)
