Big storms, tornado warnings, no power and running late for my flight.. had about an hours worth of sleep and lucky I woke up at all since the power was out. I missed my 6:30am flight to Miami, so was put on stand-by for the 7:30 flight. Got to Atlanta without a problem.. getting into Miami was another story. Heavy storms and the airport was closed..had to circle for an hour and when we finally tried to land we did it by accidently, sort of dropping several thousand feed.. which felt like a rollercoaster.. and then going to through some rain that I thought was going to tear the plane…

Jenn has been home for a few days, well, sort of home. After she partially recovered from her flight home, it was back to work trying to catch up on everything that needed to be done after her absence….. add in a local recruiting trip, unpacking, washing clothes, trying to give some attention to Cutie the Cat, and on and on………..and tonight it’s repacking and off the Ecuador tomorrow morning.   Now, those of you who are saying, “What a life, must be nice, too bad Jenn, it’s really must be rough” and I’ve been one of those….. Well, I don’t think Matt Lauer on the Today Show has anything over Jenn. She’s out there globe hopping and I know for a fact that she’s done the different day different country itinerary more than once. Where in the world is she????  Istanbul Turkey (I think) and tomorrow Moldova. She called me Thursday nite (as usual I missed the call) and left me a message. I’m packing and getting ready to head to the airport. My most important item is already in my purse and ready to travel with me.. my angel necklace. Grandma gave Kerrie and I both angel necklaces, so that when I took my trips last year we would always be together. Kerrie has her necklace with her, and mine has already traveled to a few countries.. I’ll take mine with me today, so that Kerrie will be with me. Kerrie, we have a long trip ahead of us and you had better be sitting with me on all the planes. You know flying is not my favorite thing and this time…

No, don’t write me and tell me to use spell check when I  do these posts. I didn’t misspell joy and I will explain now. It took me a long time after Kerrie was gone to turn on the TV. It was on 24/7 when she was home and at the hospital. Every show, every sound just opened wounds for me. Finally one day the house was so quiet I turned on something neutral, the news or whatever and little by little, gradually I’ve begun to watch some things. I even watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy once in a while (but I think that’s because Kerrie wants to watch it…

Well, if you have been reading the posts, you know we are all planning to caravan down to Jenn’s, on the Florida to visit Teena and Aunt Rosie, then over to visit Texas Pam and then back to live with Jenn where it’s warm and unsnowy. I’m sure she won’t mind a few of us crashing with her until this weather gets better. Any of you in the north country, especially the Midwest  know what we are going through here right now. It’s been a rough day, as I knew it would be. Ron, Dad and I have had a hard day of it and I am sure Mom has. I haven’t had a chance to speak to her yet.. but I know we’ll both talk and cry before we got to bed. I sat in my office tonight, with my piece of cake and pictures of Kerrie, and celebrated her birthday. Kind of hard to eat cake and wipe away tears at the same time.. but I managed. Driving home, I kept thinking I was glad this day was almost over… I opened the door and there’s an envelope there. Rush…

Today is Kerrie’s birthday. For the last few days, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about July 31, 2006. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day and Kerrie and I were sitting out on the balcony at Mom’s. Kerrie was sitting in the chair, legs stretched out, head back, face turned up to the sun and her eye’s closed.. I know we were both thinking that today would be her last day outside. Tomorrow we would check in to Henry Ford and she would be confined to the hallways of P2. We didn’t know what it would look like, how big her room would be or what would happen…

This is a long story, and will need some background info before I really start to tell what happened… A while back, Mom was given the name of a woman and told that she might want to contact her. Mom was told that this woman was a medium who was very well known and had actually helped out the police, in Michigan, to solve cases. I’m sure Mom was sceptical, but she took the information with the itention of checking out the woman’s web page and seeing what she was about. Around the same time Mom was given this information, she and I had a conversation where we had talked…
