Balloons and Rainbows and Sunflowers….. Oh, My!!!!
Hello Everyone, I put a post on the Gallery the other day saying that some things were coming up this week and I would give details later. Well, it’s later now. And here is the story. Last Friday my niece, aka Cousin Kathy, came in for the annual family get together on Father’s Day. The forty plus year old ‘Strawberry Party’, complete with homemade ice cream, short cake, and fresh strawberries and the WHOLE family. Two years ago Kerrie was there. Last year we spent at the hospital. This year it was a bittersweet day for me. Happiness with all the family and the dozens (it seemed like) little kids…

Hi Again Kast Family
Well, it’s been a while since either Jenn or I have posted. Things have been pretty busy for both of us……..Jenn’s park is open full time now and she is getting so much coordinated. It’s the first year the park has had employee housing and she is the only one that has experience in that… so she is trying to get everything going smoothly…however, the building isn’t done yet and the kids have to move in by a certain date (and out of the college dorms they are living in temporarily)….and it keeps raining and slowing down construction. When I was there a couple of weeks ago we were trying…

Hello Kast Family
Been a busy time lately…. weather is finally turning, although we had a little rain/snow last week…. but hopefully the last for this spring. Jenn is back from her trip. Come on Jenn, where are you? How was it? You just missed Matt Lauer, he was a week behind you, but he has nothing on you now. Every day is bringing back a memory. Kerrie had just gone back in the hospital at this time last year, and things were beginning to change rapidly. Sometimes I look back at my calender to see what was happening. But I try not to do that, because there was so much. More tests, day after…

Another little trip…
I had asked Mom not to post anything about this.. because I had not told my international employees, and didn’t want to hurt their feelings, but since the cat got out of the bag… I’m going on a little trip.. tomorrow.. to Istanbul 🙂 Yeah, yeah… I complain about having to travel for months on end and then when I get a few days of vacation what do I do? Hop on a couple of planes and travel for 14 hours to go to Turkey for 3 days.. only to turn around a fly home as soon as I am adjusted to the time difference 🙂 But it will be…

Messages from Kerrie
I hope James and Michelle won’t mind.. but I have moved their comments, from the last post, to a new post so that people will be sure to see them. I’m not sure how many people think to go back and read comments that may have been added.. James’ story still gives me chills when I hear it, because I know it was Kerrie sending a message to him. Michelle, your story made me cry.. (Don’t ask me why the number one is on here.. I don’t know.. and can’t get it to disappear 🙂 ) James says I’ll never forget it. I had left work a bit early that…

Is It Spring Yet?
Hello Everyone, Just when you think it’s finally here, spring fools us and goes away again for awhile. Today has been a day to open windows and doors and enjoy the breeze. Tomorrow it’s supposed to change drastically and snow by Sunday. Glad it won’t stay, at least that’s some consolation. Not a lot to report. Life has been rather mundane…. eat, sleep, go to work……..how exciting!!! I have enjoyed the posts…..so keep them up! And I’m jealous of Jenn and her license plate… Why didn’t I think of that? And if you’ve heard from her tell her I said hi….. she’s reverting back to her old self…. all work…

A SPECIAL DAY
Hello Everyone, After working last night I slept in a bit today and after getting up have been doing some reflecting. Today is special to me for two reason……. One —— it’s Grandma Andree’s 85th birthday. Happy Birthday Mom and Grandma………We love you ! Two —–Eight months today………it doesn’t seem possible. Sometimes I just stop short in my tracks and think about Kerrie and say to myself…….she’s really gone! I still have a hard time believing it. She’s still so real to me. I’ll be thinking of something and say to myself “wait till I tell Kerrie”. So…. I do….. we have lots of chats. I think about this website…

Green Eggs (and yellow, and red, and purple and blue) and Ham and other things, too
What a nice Easter Day……..sunshine and snow for us in Michigan………hopefully warmer and dryer for most of you. Had dinner with Ron, Alisa, Robyn and TJ. Traditional ham, potatoes, etc. (delicious) and lots of Ron’s famous deviled eggs made from the colored ones the Easter Bunny brought. And then a good movie to watch with the family. Good end to a nice day. Lots of memories too……of last Easter and other Easters in years past. Baskets full of candy and jelly beans, hidden all over the house. Family dinners, kite flying, jump rope and jacks…….all those things you do in the spring. I thought a lot about Kerrie, too. How much…

A visit from the Easter Bunny
I got home last night, after a 14 hour work day, and there was a box on my front porch.. inside the box were some small things, an Easter basket and a packet of photos. The park will be open on Easter, so I’m not able to go home.. glad the Easter Bunny thought of me, but it was bittersweet.  As I stared at the plastic eggs in the Easter Basket I thought of last Easter. Kerrie and I dying Easter Eggs, while Mom, Kerrie and I sang along to the Sound of Music on TV. We were so happy that night. I looked at the Jelly Beans and I…

HAPPY SPRING AND EASTER KAST FAMILY!!!
Hello Everyone, It’s been a few days since we have posted. I know that Jenn is really busy right now. It’s the week before the park opens and the push is on. This is early for her, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake didn’t open until May, but poor Jenn, she’s down south where it’s warm so the park season is longer.  🙂 Some of us are still battling the cold. There are old dirty piles of snow on the sides of the roads around here and we still get weather warnings for sleet, etc. Yuk!!! It’s been a long cold dreary winter, time to stop. And for those of you dealing with the…
