HAPPY SPRING AND EASTER KAST FAMILY!!!

Hello Everyone,

It’s been a few days since we have posted. I know that Jenn is really busy right now. It’s the week before the park opens and the push is on. This is early for her, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake didn’t open until May, but poor Jenn, she’s down south where it’s warm so the park season is longer.  🙂

Some of us are still battling the cold. There are old dirty piles of snow on the sides of the roads around here and we still get weather warnings for sleet, etc. Yuk!!! It’s been a long cold dreary winter, time to stop. And for those of you dealing with the floods following all this snow….take care, stay dry, hope it goes away soon.

Spring will be here officially in a couple of days and then Easter. It hardly seems possible. I keep thinking about last year, and the Easter we had. Kerrie was home, she and Jenn dyed eggs and we had our baskets. Robyn and TJ had to hunt for them. Kerrie wore her silly bunny hat and we all sang along to the musical bunny. She kept eating jelly beans and I kept trying to take them away (I was afraid she would choke on them) but she would just grin and find another one and eat it. It was such a happy time and a special day. Kerrie was so like her old self….. she was talking pretty clearly and seemed to be able to remember and understand so much more. We had that short time while she was home when she was really “back “and how I wish we had taken more videos, but I am so thankful we have what we do.

At the support group meeting last month a mother said how sad she was because the day before her son died she deleted all his messages off her phone. I have all Kerrie’s on mine. Did I mention on one of my posts that on my birthday I went to get a message off my voicemail and the system made me listen to all my saved messages first? Usually I just have to listen to the announcement and then save. I was in a hurry and felt frustrated that I had to listen to the messages and then it hit me…….. Kerrie was telling me Happy Birthday! I listened to her voice for those few minutes and felt so good………and thanked her for calling. I  very much want to download her messages to a disk and save them. If anyone knows how or where this can be done, please let me know.

Think of Jenn this weekend, spending her first few days in her new park. I sure she is excited and I can’t wait to go down again and see it. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, a Happy Easter, and enjoys the start of the new season.

Take care

We love you

Joan

ps: Join us in wishing Grandma Loretta Andree a Happy Birthday! In a few days she will be 85 and we all wish her many more birthdays to come……..Love you Mom!
