Hi Again Kast Family
Well, it’s been a while since either Jenn or I have posted. Things have been pretty busy for both of us……..Jenn’s park is open full time now and she is getting so much coordinated. It’s the first year the park has had employee housing and she is the only one that has experience in that… so she is trying to get everything going smoothly…however, the building isn’t done yet and the kids have to move in by a certain date (and out of the college dorms they are living in temporarily)….and it keeps raining and slowing down construction. When I was there a couple of weeks ago we were trying to figure out if she could put up 100+ people in her place…or maybe pitch tents in the yard 🙂
Visited her two weeks ago… looking forward to a relaxing weekend…HUH!.. I am now experienced in weight and age guessing…. if anyone is running a fair or an amusement park and needs someone to work for them, i am including that on my resume…. we spent most of Friday working the game because all the managers had to cover the park for a special event with the local high schools. What really impressed me was when the General Manager of the entire park walked up. She had a broom and dust pan and was sweeping the streets. What a nice person she is…..and pitches in like every one of her employees. I didn’t get to see much of the park, but I can tell you it is beautiful…..and I look forward to getting back and seeing the rest of it.
We didn’t do much on Saturday, except check out this neat shopping area and catch a movie. Sunday was downtown Richmond for a street fair offering foods from the many restaurants. It was really nice when it wasn’t raining. Monday was down to the university to assist 1oo+ Singapore students move into the dorm. I was suppose to hand out linens but they never arrived so we helped unload buses and then went down to another part of Richmond, check out the stores, had a Thai lunch and then to the airport. One of these trips we’re hoping to make it out of Richmond to see some of the other sights, there is so much around Jenn, just not enough time to do it.
Kerrie has been on my mind very much this week. A year ago she was undergoing additional treatment to try and stop the rejection reaction and the relapse of the MDS (her original diagnosis). We were hoping that if the treatment was successful she could undergo another stem cell transplant. I look out at the sun and green grass and can’t for the life of me remember any of it from last year. My life was going from work to the hospital and back again. I know I stayed there at night and I can’t even remember how I did other things like wash clothes and shop… but I must have, cause I just packed away the stuff I bought last year (gained the weight back and can’t get them on now, oh well). Everyonce in a while I look at my 2007 calendar to see what was happening last year. But it is still very difficult so I don’t do it too often.
Jenn will be home in July and we will spend a little time with our girl. It hardly seems possible she has been gone for ten months. But she’s really not gone, we just can’t see her. And I know she’s busy because I don’t feel her around as much as I did. Every so often she drops in, but knowing Kerrie she off having a great time somewhere the rest of the time.
Hope all is well with all of you. Keep in touch, and post if you can. We still love hearing from everyone and keeping up with you.
Joan
ps. Jenn has posted our pictures on her site on FaceBook…..She keeps a lot of stuff there so you might want to check it out.

I sat down tonight.. determined to make myself put a post on here.. and found that Mom had beat me to it. Well, we wouldn’t want anyone to have sensory overload after so many weeks without a post from us.. so maybe I will get mine on here tomorrow.. or Saturday. Have a hot date, with some friends, to see the Sex & The City movie tomorrow. Can’t go the movie without having a few cosmopolitans, so not sure how much posting I would be able to do.
I found the housing for the 100+ Turkish students who will need a place to stay if the dorm is not finished by their arrival date of June 18th.. now just need to find housing for a few hundred more students who will be displaced by the university:)
I will get our “Games employee” pics on here soon. People won’t be able to see them unless they have access to my facebook page and that is usually Kings Dominion related stuff for my international employees… but anyone is welcome to look if they can find me 🙂
I’ll post by the weekend. Kerrie’s been nagging at me.. and she has been on my mind A HUGE amount this week, so Mom.. she must be around or we wouldn’t both be thinking about her more than we do normally.
