Tuesday, October 24th… A Rough Day

I spoke with Kerrie last night and she sounded good… even said her throat and mouth were feeling better and that she wasn’t having difficulty talking. That lasted until sometime after 4:00am

Sometime around 5:00am Kerrie was running a fever, her blood pressure was high, she was in a large amount of pain, one side of her face felt numb… and she thought she might be having a stroke. It was at this point she had them call Mom.

It wasn’t a stroke, but Mom says it has been a pretty bad day. Her face is pretty swollen and the sores in her throat and mouth are bad enough now that eating is impossible. She’s tried eating the Italian Ice, but is having a problem keeping even that down.. so it looks like the TPN IV Feeding is going to be a definate thing.. and may have even started already.

Dr. Jana believes she may have developed Shingles, but it is also possible that the numbness in her face is due to Bells- Palsie. I am sure I am not spelling that correctly and have never even heard of it before today.. but from what I have been told it’s the temporary paralysis of the face.

When I spoke with Mom tonight, she said Dr. Jana still believes she has Shingles, but nothing has been ruled out yet. She’s been sleeping most of the day, needs help getting out of bed and has a pretty bad headache.

I have heard Shingles can be painful, so I’m glad they are giving her lots of pain meds and very happy that Mom can be there with her, so she’s not alone.

I wish I could be there with her too, but it’s nice to know that if she wakes up in the middle of the night that Mom will be there to take care of her.

She’s already been through so much… tomorrow has to be better!

Hello to all who love Kerrie. I just got a call from Kerrie’s Grandma(Wednesday at 4:30 PM Detroit time) that Kerrie has taken a turn for the worse. I was asked to send this out asking for prayers!

See the home page update from yesterday. Since then, pain has increased and Kerrie’s paralysis of the face has gotten worse. She is being taken to ICU and will have some important tests done this evening starting at 6 PM. She is not allowed pain meds at the moment due to these tests. Dear God, help her! Dad, Mom, Jenn and Ron are all with her.

More details will follow when possible.

    Love to all. KEPP PRAYING!
