An Update From Mom
Hello Everyone,
If you have been following the website then you know what has been happening the last few days, bone marrow transplant and all.
It has been pretty hectic….i worked Monday, went home and packed and moved to the guest housing at HFH with Jenn…….spent the evening with Kerrie then early to bed and up with Jenn in the a.m. to go get her catheter (only after I was able to give her the last two shots….tee hee).
While we waited she kept saying how much of a coward she was…. and she was afraid……but never having had anything like this before anyone would be………i want to tell you………how very brave she was………….Jenn… cowards are afraid and run away…….brave people are afraid and stay and do what needs to be done……..don’t ever think you are a coward…….you have been the bravest person i know more than once the last few months!
One detail Jenn left out when she mentioned that we made it to Kerrie;s room in time for the transplant was the speed in which we made it………I have never gone so fast with a wheelchair in my life……..i only knocked over one little old lady and grazed a couple of other people……….. they tried to give us a speeding ticket, but they couldn’t catch us….
I’m sure Jenn will post pictures as soon as i download from my camera……… darn event only took about 20 minutes..all this waiting and preparation and boom, it’s over…..but the waiting has just begun…..and as Dr. Jana said (more than once that day) her job has just begun…….
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words and support and prayers………..I wish I had time to call each one of you individually ( and hope to eventually), but know that we all appreciate everything you are all doing…….
Love you lots and will write again soon
Joan

People were jumping out of the way of Joan pushing Jenn thru the hallways. Only had to help one old guy up after he got in the way.
