AT HOME
Hello Everyone,
Well, we are in the first full day at home, got here yesterday in the early afternoon. The rest of the day was one of adjustments as we had to figure out where to sit, lay, stand, etc. no more electric bed or call lights or IV pain meds. Just Fuat and I falling all over ourselves and each other trying to take care of Jenn.
I went shopping and picked up a couple of things like a shower seat and a hand held shower head. Neither one will work here. Tub too narrow and shower connection the wrong one. So much for that trip. We decided that the trip down the stairs is pretty easy so tomorrow we go to the downstairs shower that is a step in and has a built in seat.
Jenn is still pretty sore but she gets up and walks around in between naps and bathroom stops. She will feel much better once all her systems get back on track. Right now she is thinking of applying for a refund from Activia. She says it’s just not working and she wants her money back guarantee to cough up. 🙂
Nothing exciting to report right now. Jenn will see the doctor next Wednesday to get the final pathology reports and details on her treatment. She still needs to get a tooth pulled before chemo so we need to make that appointment too.
Still not sure when I am going home. Want to see how she is doing tomorrow before I even try to set a day. Right now she needs someone here to assist with things. Once she is in and out of the shower alone and up and down stairs, etc. I will be on my way.
Take care all, I am sure Jenn will post as soon as she is up to it………..but remember, don’t make her laugh, “it hurts!”

Two words Jenn… prune juice! Amazing stuff. Uncle Jack got me on it when I stayed with them the couple of days after my operation. Still using it… and grateful for everyday miracles! LOL!
Love you!

Sometimes you need to bring in the bomb squad, Jeannine. We did, it worked………. 🙂

Jenn, Fuat and Joan – Sounds like all is going well. Good to hear. But I would like to remind Joan that if she needs to help Jenn shower…wear your bathing suit…Fuat doesn’t need THAT image of his mother-in-law in his head! LOL.

Thinking of you all, all the time. Jenn, I’m glad that you are at home, so you can rest more easily!

Hi, everyone – I realize that no one knows me, but I worked with Jenn for a few years at Cedar Point, and was a frequent “silent” follower of kast2006.com during the year of 2006 while my uncle was in the terminal stages of lung cancer. First of all, I wanted to belatedly let all of you know how much inspiration and hope reading all of your supportive comments to one another gave me during that difficult time. My family is close, and we supported each other throughout that time, but something about seeing another family go through what my family was experiencing was a very special kind of comfort.
I would love it if someone could let Jenn know that I think of her often, and that I will continue to do so during these trying times. Jenn has been a true role model and inspiration to me, as well as a caring and generous friend, and I’ve been telling stories in which she’s the principal figure for years.
Thanks so much, and my thoughts are with all of you –
Sincerely, Megan Driscoll

Hi Auntie & Cousin Jenn–and welcome to the family Fuat!
Finally got our computer to work–the storms really mess with our power. Sounds like you are all on the program of getting Jenn healed and strong. Wish I could be there to help. You are all close in thought on a daily basis.
Jenn, your California Family is sending you healing, healthy, “kick-ass” prayers. Stay strong-get this treatment done! We will keep in touch-I love this site!! And, just a reminder from an old GI nurse—stool softners are really helpful until you’re up to full speed. Love you all, Kerry& Art
