Hello Everyone,
Been reading all the comments about the sunflowers. Isn’t it funny how we see them now and immediately think of Kerrie.
Worked this weekend, and on Sunday I had the strongest feeling that she was there with me. I could even see her, she was in her work scrubs. I would be waiting for an elevator and she was next to me. One time I was in a hurry to get to one of the units and the elevator went down instead of up. When it started up it stopped on the 3rd floor, Kerrie’s floor. That unit is empty now and when the door opened of course no one was there. I couldn’t step off, can’t go back there yet. But, I said “Hey, Ker, I gotta get upstairs, quit fooling around”. I could see her smiling like she’d played a joke on me. She talked to me all day. Can’t even remember most of it, but I could hear her voice and see her face.
That night after work I went in to Pontiac with my friend Pat, to the big music and arts festival they have every year. We went from booth to booth and I kept looking for something with sunflowers. No luck. As we were leaving we went by some of the side streets with the unjuried crafts and vendors. We walked by a spot where a man had some yard decorations he makes from scrap metals. I was saying how Ron, Kerrie’s brother would probably like some of this when we saw it………. there it was, a sunflower. Pat said “you better get it or you’ll be sorry”. I told her how I had been looking for something with a sunflower and then she told me, she had been too. So I got it…. all six+ feet of this metal sunflower with a head made from an old circular saw blade (which the seller had to wrap up because it is still sharp). The I had to get it out of the crowd without injuring anyone. Gave Pat and I a chuckle (and I only slightly injured a couple of people).
So that was my day with Kerrie. And I have a sunflower for my garden too. Just have to figure where to put it so it doesn’t kill a couple of squirrels. 🙂
Love the posts and love to see that so many of you still come here. It’s very comforting to us….. thank you all.
Love
Joan

Wow, What an awesome day you had!! I’m sure there are many more to come. I think of Ker often.
I wish we were all on the third floor–St. Joes just isn’t home. Deb Kayga

In my statement in the gallery I put that Kerrie will be forgotten that was an error it should’ve read that Kerrie will not be forgotten. It’s still early in the morning for me to be typing. :o)
I tried to send another message in the gallery to let everyone know about the mistake but it would’t let me do it right now. So I sent it on here instead.
Have a great weekend
Love,
Sandy
