Kerrie’s had a decent day today.. with some ups and downs.
I woke up this morning and she’d already eaten breakfast.. didn’t even save me any of her coffee. Hmm.. Nice sister. So, I got up.. got dressed and walked all they way down the hall to the coffee machine. She had the coffee sitting right on her tray. She didn’t drink it. It was there.. waiting for me.. but she sent it away with the rest of her tray. What was she thinking?? Making me walk all the way down the hall for coffee. Just for that.. maybe I’ll only make her one chocolate milkshake today. Well, since she had to have platellets this morning, I suppose I can cut her a little slack. Two milkshakes.. but that’s it!
Dr. Jana, and the BMT team, came around and Dr. Jana said she was very happy to see Kerrie looking so good. You almost can’t notice the jaundice in her face.. just a little in her right eye. I asked about the Billy Rubin, but Dr. Jana said it’s still at 10. They want it as 6 or less, but she also said it will take at least a week to see if the medication had any effect.
Kerrie wasn’t feeling all that great today, and when Physical Therapy came to see her she tried to tell them no, but I told her we weren’t taking no for an answer. See.. that’s what happens when you don’t have that cup of coffee waiting for me when I wake up. Make me walk all the way down the hall.. yeah.. we’ll see if you do that again Ker-bear.
Physical Therapy got her out of bed, and had her walking to the chair, when she started crying that it hurt really bad. They got her into her chair, had her sit for a while, and then had her walk back to the bed. It didn’t hurt so much this time and she was able to do it without a problem. There is some kind of a problem though.. her right foot is completely swollen. Mom said her leg and foot were like that yesterday, but it is really swollen. There is obvisously something wrong and I’m hoping they will take x-rays to see what the problem is.
Kerrie had some great visitors today.. our cousins Kathy, Amanda and Sarah came to visit ( Amanda and Sarah brought their boyfriends with them) They’re in town, from Maryland, for a family party this weekend. Hey Whitney/Painter clan.. we can’t be there, so be sure to eat plenty of strawberry shortcake for us ( and drink a few strawberry daquiris for us too. Chris.. you promised to drink one for me). Kerrie was so thrilled when they all came in. She had such a huge smile on her face and it was nice to see.
Now were just laying around watching TV and getting ready to call it a night. She’s had her dilauded, and her milkshake, and she’s happy.. so if she’s happy, I’m happy.

kerrie, don’t forget, if Jenn is not treating you right or moaning about the lack of coffee, you can threaten her with a gold star. I still can’t believe how well she is doing. are you sure you aren’t missing some meds?

Dear Kerrie,
I have been talking to Janet Branch from SACC and she has been keeping me informed on how you have been doing. You are one tough and inspiring woman!!!! I’m sure you get some of that from your mother of course, and even your sister. Your family and you have been in my prayers. May your warm smile always stay on your face because you always had that special warmth. Keep on pushing, but don’t forget to smile because that was God’s gift from you to all of us!!! Take care and we will keep you in our prayers. Say hi to your mom for me. God Bless You!

Hi Kerrie,
You, Jenn, Ron and Aunt Joan are always first on my morning routine ( alright, after making the coffee). I am so proud to have you as my family. You have been an inspiration to me and I’m sure many others with your strenghth, determination, love and faith. I pray for all of you often, laugh with you and even cry with you.
You will be missed sooooooo much at the Strawberry party on Sunday, it won’t be the same without the Andree clan. And I’m going to blame you for the added ‘junk in the trunk’ for all the extra shortcake that I’ll feel obligated to have to eat on your behalf! hehehehe
Know that you are loved and thought of always. The best of luck with your latest challenges. God Bless each of you….
