Kerrie and I had long night of sleep last night. Surprised either one of us could sleep.. but she had her dilauded, and I had my sister sleeping next to me ( Which is just as good as dilauded) so we both got a little sleep. Hopefully, Mom.. Ron.. Dad and Joyce slept well too.

Kerrie tried to tell me she was only having chocolate milk for breakfast today.. but I put down the law, “Jenn’s law” and made her eat one piece of bacon, a bite of hash browns and a bite of bagel. At this point, I’ll let her have chocolate cake for breakfast.. if that’s what she wants.. just as long as she eats.

They’ve given her the test dose of this drug and they are now waiting for Mom to get here, so they can give her the first dose. I was afraid she was having a reaction to the test dose, because her arm looked red in the spot they gave it to her, but it’s cleared up now.. Hortensia, Kerrie’s nurse, told us they sould give it to her even if she had a reaction, just a smaller dose. I think that statement was more for me, than Kerrie… I had been out in the hall and asked Hortensia if she thought Kerrie was having a reaction. When she didn’t answer I burst into tears and said, “but there’s nothing else! This is all there is.” She told me not to worry, we needed to give it a little time.

Mom’s here now, and they will probably start her 1st dose soon. She’ll have to have her heart, blood pressure, etc. monitored during the entire time ( about 2 -3 hours) and a nurse will be with us the entire time.

Kerrie’s in good spirits today.. and Mom and I are going to be make sure she stays this way!

We’ll let you know how the rest of the day goes.
