So.. Mom sends out this e-mail today, I guess to people who don’t normally check the web site, and she’s giving them an update.. I’m reading along, and I get to the part where she says Kerrie may be going back to re-hab as early as next week.. WHAT??? I darn near dropped my coffee all over my lap.

Of course, I ever so nicely questioned Mom about this when I spoke with her tonight.. and endeavored to find out why I am receiving this information in an e-mail she just happened to put me on copy for?? Her response, “Oh, Krystal ( the Nurse Practicioner) and I talked about that the other day. I guess i thought I mentioned it.”

Umm.. Nooooo…

So, it seems that if Kerrie’s blood counts, etc. continue to improve she could go back to North Oakland as early as the beginning of next week.

She may not be completely ready yet, but we’re losing a lot of ground on the Physical Therapy and the medical needs she has, with the Gall Bladder, can probably be taken care of at North Oakland. Keep your fingers crossed that Kerrie will be making a move soon. I think it will do a great deal for her spirits and will be nice for her to be closer to her friends. I know she’s been incredibly lonely.

Especially the last two days. Mom was sick, again, today and wasn’t able to be at the hospital with her. As long as it doesn’t get much worse than it is now, I should still be able to make it to Michigan tomorrow night. I hope so, but I am not going to count on anything until I see what the weather does. It’s been snowing heavily for two days, roads are cruddy, schools closing, people losing power and temps dropping to about 5 degrees tonight. Snow Warnings go through tomorrow night… but we’ll see.

Kerrie, I have the shovel ready. I’ll find a way to get there..

Kerrie, The best laid plans and all…. I was really planning on visiting you on your B-Day, but I was in Idaho, Denver and Detroit and exhausted. You know that place where Tinkerbell lives, between sleep and awake, thats where I was all day. I called your mom, I hope that she gave you the message. Then I planned on visiting you and I woke up with a sore throat. Sorry but not taking any bugs to you. Thursday had to leave work early due to sickness, and spent the next day in bed. Starting to feel better now. Hope this passes soon and I can visit you. I really, really, really miss you.
    Love you, Donna
