They Nyquil is kickin in hard, so typing seems a little difficult right now.. but I’ll do my best to give you a quick update. Please forgive any typos 🙂
Started feeling cruddy, just before leaving Kerrie this afternoon, so hope I can kick this before I go back to Michigan on Friday.
The last few days have been kind of blah for Kerrie. Eat, sleep, watch TV, play Bingo with me.. kind of boring, but I enjoyed being able to lay around and just play. I hope she did too.
Kerrie has been put on Contact Precautions, due to this viral infection she has going on in her Gall Bladder and everyone need to put on a gown and gloves before doing anything with her.. including us.
Because of my oncoming sniffles, I added a mask to the ensemble and felt like I belonged on the set of Grey’s Anatomy. Looked everywhere for Dr. McDreamy.. but just couldn’t find him.
Although she’s on Contact Precautions, the Dr.’s feel some things must be getting better as they stopped one of her antibiotics today.. she still has some pretty strong ones, but they did feel they could stop one and said that’s a good sign.
She’s getting weaker, even in her voice, so Mom said we need to start getting her doing her PT excersizes as much as possible. She was too sick to do them last week, but it’s time! We did a few of the oral excersizes today, and she let me give her a nice foot massage, but threw a fit when I wanted to do some of the excersizes with her leg.
She’s having some problems with her tube feeding and we think it may be caused by the high sugar content in the stuff they are giving her. Even though the feeding tube is going into her “remnant” stomache, she still seems to be having the symptoms she would have if she was getting a lot of sugar in her “Regular” stomache.. so, they are stopping the tube feeding tonight ( Just for one night) to see if this helps at all. She wasn’t having problems before, but they recently switched her formula to something with more protien, but more sugar, and we are betting this is what’s causing it. There are other ways to get her protien, so if this is it then hopefully she will start getting much better soon.
Starting to feel pretty darn drugged, so think I should crawl off to bed now 🙂
I think Kerrie is really lonely, and needs some visitors, but I will tell you about that tomorrow when I can think clearly. We’re going to need to put our thinking caps on to think of ways to get Kerrie to continue fighting.
For now, I’m going to stop fighting the Nyquil.
Until Tomorrow….

Jenn,
Hope you feel better!!
Aunt Jeannine
Get some sleep and rest Jenn. Nyquil has wonderfully restorative properties. And Kerrie is a fighter. We’ll help her find weapons to use. Love you.

Dear Kerrie
Winter is the worst for feeling isolated and bored and lonely. I feel that way at times and I am not in the same room every day with the exact same faces. Sorry, if you are getting the blues. You are the strongest person I know to just now be feeling it.
I would like to come down on Wednesday and visit.
Have a good day, and stay strong and positive, you’ve had a long road but I know you can be where you want to be!

I’d be happy to come visit, but I’m not exactly sure where Kerrie is these days. If someone would leave me that information, I’ll come visit a couple of times this week. As always, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Jenn
Kat, Kerrie is still at Henry Ford in Detroit. On Floor P2. I know she would love to see you
