Tuesday, January 9th
Packed, ready to go and now all I have to do is try to finish 3 days worth of work in the 8 hours I will have in my office tomorrow. Then it’s time to go spend the night with Kerrie and make myself get on that plane on Thursday.
Kerrie had her liver biopsy this morning, as well as an ultrasound of her gall bladder and x-rays of her stomache. Mom thinks it will be a few days before we have any results of the biopsy, but hoping we’ll hear something about the x-rays tomorrow.
The ultrasound showed an inflamation of the gall bladder, but this is something that had been found earlier.. when they determined she had gall stones ( or was it kidney stones.. that was a while ago). At that time, they decided to treat with steroids ( if my memory is correct) and didn’t feel any other treatment was necessary. Hopefully, it’s the same now.
She’s still feeling pretty sick, and won’t eat anything, but she’s getting her tube feeding so there’s no worry there. It only means she not getting her “swallowing” practice.
The closer I get to having to make this trip, the more I worry that something will happen while I’m gone. It’s bad enough being a 4 hour car ride away… being accross an entire ocean and half a continent is going to be a little more stressful I think.
There’s not much else too tell right now. I keep thinking I should take Sandy’s suggestion, take a bath, and try to relax.. but I’m too tired right now to clean the bathtub. Thanks for the idea though Sandy 🙂
If I win the Mega Millions tonight, I’ll pay someone to clean the house while I’m gone!

Jenn, Try to go and get this trip over with and we will see you when you get back. I will keep in touch with mom. Starting tomorrow. Don’t worry ok. I will call her, and call her and call her. And maybe just maybe I will bless miss Kerrie with my presence ok. (HAHA) Talk to you soon. Love samdy

Jenn – Sweet Woman! Haven’t you figured it out by now? House cleaning is a “non-value add” activity! You do it, enjoy it for 45 minutes and then you have to do it all over again! I used to be anal-compulsive about having a clean, perfectly organized house. I’m in recovery now. And, amazingly enough, the world has not come crashing to a screeching halt! (Originally I was a little disappointed by that because it negated all my previous sacrafices and efforts, but I adjusted rapidly because it gave me incredible freedom over my discretionary time !) Go, do what you need to do for work. Trust, that whatever happens is meant to happen regardless of your proximity to the event. You couldn’t be any closer to Kerrie if you were sewn inside her skin. Some connections are beyond the physical. And, since you are going, try to enjoy your trip. Read Baba Ram Das, “Be Here Now”. Love you!
