It’s only 11:30 and Kerrie has already had a pretty busy day. Lots of doctors in to see her.. Respitory, Nuerology, etc. The Nuerologist came to meet with her briefly, at the request of another doctor, and told Kerrie he thought she had already been “Through the Mill” and he hoped she wouldn’t need to see him at all. I laughed, and told him.. “No offense, but we really hope she doesn’t ever need to see you either!”
We spent part of the morning reading more of the cards and letters that had come in Uncle Dave’s present on Christmas morning and plan to try to get through the rest of them later today. She loves reading them.. and a couple of them have really brought us to tears.
Right before she was supposed to start her PT, one of the doctors walked in and said he was there to take out her stitches. Thank God Mom walked in a minute later, because I wasn’t sure I could sit there with her and watch it. I’ve gotten used to some of this stuff.. but taking stitches out of her head.. still a little queasy on that one.
The “railroad tracks” are gone now and she looks pretty good. Less like a science project 🙂
I’ll head back to the hospital this afternoon and, once her PT is over and she’s had a nap, we’re going to read the rest of the cards and letters and watch a few movies. Kerrie wants to start with “Brokeback Mountain” and then “Phantom of the Opera”… quite a difference in selections and should make for an interesting afternoon.
So far, her fever has stayed down and she says she’s feeling alright.. so hopefully no exciting news for today. We kind of like when that happens!
