Very little to let you know today…

Neurosurgery did not come in today and, of course, I grilled Mom about the reasons for this but she doesn’t have any more answers on this than I do. She plans on addressing this with the BMT Team tomorrow and hopefully we will find out what’s going on.

My phone rang this afternoon and when I answered it Kerrie was on the other end of the line! She just wanted to tell me that she was sitting up in a chair 🙂

Physical Therapy heeded Mom’s note and did not let Kerrie say “no” to her PT, so they got her up and out of bed.. and she was still sitting in the chair when Mom got there, so they decided to call and share the news .

Kerrie doesn’t usually say much when she’s able to talk on the phone.. generally just “Hi. How are you? I’m done talking now” and then she’ll hand the phone back to Mom. Even though the conversations are short it makes me feel good to hear her voice when I can’t be there with her ( of course then I have to shake off the sadness of not being there and get back to work.)

Mom said the BMT Team feels she is ready to start working on her Nuerological therapy, so they will be scheduling this to start soon. Not exactly sure what this entails.. but will be something like working on her memory, getting her point accross without telling me all about “Totally free Checking” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.. that sort of thing.

Mom did have to sit down with Kerrie tonight and have a very important conversation. It seems the Henry Ford Billing Department has noticed an extreme increase in the consumption of ice chips on P2 so they have decided to raise Kerrie’s room rate.

Kerrie got the joke.. and thought it was funny… and then she ate another cup of ice chips 🙂

Buying her a christmas present is going to be really cheap this year! A cup of ice and maybe some snow cone flavoring to go with it.
