Teena … January 18
Teena has started physical therapy. She’s not happy about it, but she’s doing it. When I asked her what they did, she said “nothing much”, but then the nurse told me Teena had been sitting in a chair for about 5 hours. Wow! It took Kerrie a long time to be able to sit in a chair for that long. Pretty darn good for a first day Teena.
Whether she realizes it or not… sitting up, getting out of bed and sitting in a chair IS physical therapy. Soon she will be begging to sit in the chair again… I am sure Kerrie is with her, laughing and saying “Yeah.. I didn’t want to do it either” ,but I am sure she will hold Teena’s hand every “step” of the way.
Teena isn’t able to take steps yet. Her legs and feet are still too weak, but they were able to get her to stand up and then move her to a chair. Not sure if it took one or two people.. I wasn’t there.. but she should be proud that she did it.
Her brother, Mike, has come back to Virginia while Becky and Tommy had to go back to Ohio.. so Teena is not alone! Fuat spends time with them as well, and then comes to get me from work and takes me to the hospital in the evenings.
They may try to play some Uno with her to see if she can get a little brain excersize 🙂 Fuat loves the game.. and Teena is pretty good at it, but she says she will only win if she can remember how to play. Don’t worry Teena.. it will come back to you! Give Fuat a good game. Don’t let him win too easily 🙂
More updates later…
