Kerrie’s Bone Marrow Doner

We got the test results on the possiblity of me being able to be the donor for Kerrie!

Although this is just the preliminary results, and are only 99% accurate, the test show that I am a PERFECT 6/6 match!!! Everyone have a glass of champagne and smoke a cigar!

There was only a 25% chance I would be a match at all and to be a perfect 6 out of 6 match is more than we could have ever hoped for.

There will still need to be more comprehensive testing done, and I will start all those tests tomorrow, but unless there is something drastic in those tests I am going to be her doner!!

Because Kerrie was hospitalized, this past weekend, for kidney/bladder infections it may delay getting started on the transplant process. Her transplant team wants to make sure there are not other infections, etc.

We may be starting the process right away, or we may need to wait a few more days. There should be a definate answer on this after we meet with the transplant team tomorrow.

Since I am at my mother’s, I do not have my complete address book accessible on this computer… please forward this e-mail to anyone you see is missing and send my apologies for not including them. I know I am missing many of the e-mail addresses for family.. so I am counting on my aunts, uncles and cousins to pass this on! Mom and Dad will probably send e-mails out as well.

I have no doubt I am missing CP addresses.. so, I am hoping friends can pass it on also.

From this point on, I will be doing all e-mails about Kerrie from jenn@kast2006.com

Please feel free to send e-mails to that address and we will let you know when the K.A.S.T. webpage is up and running. James has been doing an awesome job and it looks great so far.

Celebrate.. this is great news we received!

Talk to you soon,

Jenn

Hi Jenn, Don’t know if you remember me or not, but I was the one that kerrie went to Indiana with and I took her to Muskegon. Tell her I know and I am praying for both of you. Keep me informed as much as possible. I live in Florida now, if you need to call here is my cell# 239-281-3747. It’s with me all the time. Tell Kerrie I said hi.

Hi Renee, I am sure Kerrie has seen your message and is happy to hear from you. Kerrie… I’m glad you never doubted that I would be a match for you. At least one of us had faith!

    Love you,

    Jenn

Kerrie, the first I even heard of a blog was from you at work. I am struggling trying to figure this out. Anyway, I just found out about your web page from Jannie B and also of your ilness. My stomach sank when I found out. You are the one bright spot in our unit and I always know I can count on a smile and nice conversation when your there. Not to mention, you always anticipate our needs and have the job done long before we ask. What will the computer Illiterate nurses like me do? I do want you to know you are on our minds and in our prayers. You are loved and missed. I will be keeping in touch and checking your web site to see what we can do to be helpful. Love to you and your family. Sandra Walter

    Hi Kerrie,
You don’t know me but I have heard a lot about you. I am pk’s sister in Florida. I have been saying prayers for you and wishing you strength and hope.
I am, and have been on the bone marrow national registry for about 6 years but have never matched anyone. I bet you have been thanking god that you have a sister for more than one reason. I am so lucky to have 4 brothers myself but pk is my favorite we are very close and will be praying for you. Keep the faith and you will be fine I know.
