Hi Everyone!!!
If you’ve been keeping up with the web page, then you know Kerrie came home Thursday night………we knew it was coming but I thought it would be Friday or Saturday so when I called after work, and she said they were writing her scripts, etc., I flew home to clean my car and headed for the hospital.. Allied Van Lines wasn’t available so I had to pack and load her stuff in to my car myself………..
.Riddle: how much can one women accumulate in a hospital room in two months? Answer: a hell of a lot!
After several trips to the car I looked up at her window and saw the party crowd gathered around, they even waved at me……..it seems the word had spread……..Kerrie was going home and staff were coming in to say goodbye……….oh well, I was so happy I didn’t care that I was alone in the dark dreary rainy night loading TONS of stuff.
We got home, rested and then Kerrie went to bed in her own bed, in the dark (no hospital hall lights), in the quiet (no beeping IV machine), without interruptions (nurses checking vital signs or IV tubing). Just me coming in at 1am, 3am, 7am with pills.
Things got rough on Friday however, as Kerrie’s allergic reaction to ??? some drug got much worse. We ended up spending 5 hours, Friday night at the Henry Ford ER………and that was a trip……..I thought the TV show ER was an exaggeration……..was I wrong! If we had it to do over I would have done something different (but what?)……..we did finally got out of there and home and with some new rx that would hopefully keep her comfortable.
Kerrie is tired, but happy to be home……….we even walked OUTSIDE twice today. We figure one lap around the condo complex is equal to 5 laps around P2 (her unit). 4 laps is a mile and on and on………Why do we keep referring things to the hospital???
Jenn has been home this weekend…….tomorrow she goes to HFH for more lab work…….and Thursday Kerrie goes for labs, tests, etc. We don’t have a date for transplant yet, but when I talked to the doctor Monday she said something about Kerrie being home 7-8 days, so I am expecting her to tell us that Ker will be going back in sometime over the weekend……..I will let you know when we hear.
Anyone wanting to visit this week is welcome……….we will be home all week except for Thursday (hospital day). Just call first to make sure we haven’t gone out somewhere…..248-844-0046……or that lots of other people are coming..We still need to limit visitors to a few at a time (and restrictions: still no little kids, sick folk, flowers, fresh fruit, etc). I hope that you can stop by…………I know that going to HFH is a trip and this would be more convenient……..so don’t hesitate……..
Also, please check the website………Kerrie’s friend on the midnight shift at NOMC put on a beautiful bake sale and craft show last Friday and Jenn has posted many pictures of it………(haven’t seen it myself yet, but saw Jenn putting the info on)
Take care all and will update soon
