So Mom finally calls and I’m getting my hair done and can’t answer the phone ( yes.. believe it or not I actually take 5 minutes for myself every once in a while).. anyway.. I try and try to call her back, but no answer. Then I remember that it’s Wednesday and she’s at work. Not able to call.. but maybe she left me a voicemail message.. Hmm.. I think I’ll check. Get to my messages and this is what I hear:

“Hi, it’s me.. just on my way into work. I’m running late tonight, because I took Kerrie to Outpatient Rehab today. We have a little glitch with that, because apparently there can’t be any kind of home care and that includes tube feeding and IV infusions, if the patient’s having out patient therapy, so we’ve got to find out about that tomorrow, but other than that everything went well and I’ve got something kind of exciting to tell you about what she did.. so if you can catch me before I get to work.. otherwise, I guess it will have to wait till tomorrow. Talk to you later.. bye.”

WHAT???!! Hey.. lady.. yeah you.. Mom. What the heck are you talking about? Ummm.. since when is Kerrie in outpatient therapy? She just had her first fricking in-home rehab visit and speech therapy visit.. OT hasn’t even started with her yet.. the plan was to hopefully get her in to outpatient rehab in the next few weeks and you took her to outpatient rehab TODAY???? I can think of more than one little glitch with that.. like.. oh, I don’t know.. perhaps mentioning this to family, friends and complete strangers before dropping this on me in a voicemail ( just as I am dropping it on all of you right now 🙂

And what about home health care now? Is she still getting that? Has it been cancelled because of the out patient therapy? Are we going to have to go through that whole mess again, just to get home health care re-established.. since we obviously can’t stop the tube feeding or the IV infusions.. which I guess means she can’t go to out patient rehab? Are cats and dogs sleeping together? Will Luke marry Laura ( showing my age here)… Geez.. one lousy day without a phone call and the whole world changes.

And another thing.. you actually expect me to sleep tonight knowing Kerrie did something exciting and you won’t be able to tell me until tomorrow? Well, if I have to sit here on pins and needles everyone else will too I guess 🙂

And Grandma… yet another day that I got so busy I forgot to call. I’m such a horrible Grandchild. Not to mention a rotten Godchild. I’m sending myself an e-mail, right now, telling myself to call you tomorrow.. I just hope I have time to check my e-mails!

Once I have some information on what the heck is going on with Kerrie suddenly being in out patient rehab, whether or not the cat is sleeping with the dog, if Luke really married Laura and what the EXCITING thing is that Kerrie did.. I’ll let you all know.
