Today’s trip to Henry Ford went really well by the sounds of it.
Dr. Jana is cutting the amount of Prograf Kerrie gets and that’s a really good sign. Prograf is the drug that Keeps her immuno-suppressed and if Dr. Jana is dropping the dosage then that must mean my immune system is getting adjusted to Kerrie’s body. They want to keep the immune system suppressed, so that it has time to adjust to the new “host” and that it will “graft” to Kerrie’s body without rejecting it. This way she has less chance of Graft Vs. Host Disease ( GVHD) and the ammune system adjusts. If her dosage is being cut.. it’s a really good things.
They are also dropping the number of visits she will need to make each week and will now only have to go to Henry Ford on Tuesdays!!! Also a very good sign.
An MRI is going to be scheduled soon, as well as a surgical consult to see if she’s physically able to handle having her gall bladder removed.. and then there is the Bone Marrow Biopsy in April. I’ve already told Mom I will take the day off for this, and be there, because they will not do the biopsy without sedating her and I will lay accross her body to stop them if I have to. Hopefully they will remember how difficult it is to perform on her, and how much pain it causes her, and this won’t be an issue. But you can bet I’m going to be there to make sure they don’t touch her without sedation. The last time I was there for this it was horrible.. Mom reminded me she’s had one since then, with no sedation, but she was also almost completely paralyzed at that time… No sedation? They’ll have to drag me off her.
Kerrie and Mom called me tonight to tell me that the weather was beautiful and that Kerrie had mailed my picture. I was a little confused by this, but then Mom clarified it. Since the weather was so nice, they went outside and Kerrie got the mail out of the mailbox. I had been telling Kerrie about some pictures in my office right before she told me this, so that must be where she came up with “Mailing my picture”.
She sounded so damn good tonight. Her speech was very good and, except for a little confusion, she sounded like my Kerrie. I know she was really worn out, so for her to sound that good after a long day is encouraging.
I’m exhausted, moved from my winter office to my summer office today and body hurts in places I had forgetten existed. Very tired and not even sure this post makes much sense. Going to bed.. and will read it again in the morning. If it’s all just babble I will correct it tomorrow.. but hopefully it makes a little sense!!
Goodnight Kerrie…
