Kerrie handled the third dose without any problems. Slept through the whole thing..

She woke up and was surprised to see me sitting next to her. Happy I could surprise her. Mom had called, earlier in the day, because Kerrie wanted to know “when is she getting on the bus?” Well, I didn’t get on the bus as early as I wanted to, because people kept coming in my office and interrupting the bus driver, so it was hard for me to get the bus started on time. Finally got in a little after 4:00pm and then Mom was able to head off to work.

Kerrie’s sleeping again.. they’ve just given her another large does of pain meds, benedryl and hyrdocortazone… and have started the two units of blood they need to give her tonight.

We are very grateful she handled each dose of the medication without problems, but now we sit and wait… hopefully this will work on the GVHD, her liver will get back to normal and we can get started on the Chemo. But here’s where the risk of infection is going to be really high. That pesky infection in her brain is still lurking about in there and could cause some problems. But, she’s done so well this past week that I am very hopeful that this will go well. There has even been a few times, this week, that I’ve actually forgotten just how sick she is. When I do remember, I haven’t let it shake my faith in this whole thing working. Maybe I’m a little too positive, but have to be…. we’ve all been through so much, had the rug ripped out from us so many times.. have to force ourselves to stay positive.

Kerrie can do this… she’s over the first hurdle. Just a few more to go.. and they are some doosies..

Going to join my sister in taking a little nap. She said it was ok for me to move in for the week, so going to get comfortable 🙂

More tomorrow

    Dear Jenn,

I know there is no where on Earth where you would rather be…unless Kerrie was there with you, too! Like some tropical island beach with both of you hotties sipping your favorite brew and checking out the beach boys. Like Aunt Michelle says, “Believe, believe, believe…”

    Love you!
